WOW....

This is taking a lot longer than I had initally thought.

Are you going be working through this day in and day out or is it going to be like after work or such?

I guess tacos take a bit of extra work compared to the older trucks. That and from the looks of it they're spending a lot of time standing/sitting around and staring at it.

It is time consuming, but since none of us have ever done this before and there are not instructions, we are taking out time and making sure we do it right the first time.

We will be "full time" on this all this week, at least until it's driveable again. Both ChrisCo and I are off work until a week from tomorrow (Monday).

Blah, blah, blah... I don't see you pitching in to help heheheh During some of the times you see us standing around, someone is fabbing something we need. The fab bench is out of view of the camera, as is the assembly bench. For example, we made the new front shackles from scratch, out of view of the camera today There is other pre assembly going on as well. It's not *quite* as dead as it looks, but we are spending some quality time brainstorming ahead, trying to anticipate the next bump in the road.

Besides, how long has your truck been two-wheel drive?? Pot, kettle, black? ehehehehhehhe

I know it And if you were here, I would unlock your rear hubs, just for spite! hehehhehehe

We were a little ahead of schedule yesterday when we knocked off, but figuring out where to put the rear spring hanger set us back a bit today, so we finished a bit behind where I would have liked to have been. Hopefully, after a good night sleep, we will pick up where we left off and kick some butt tomorrow

That's pretty much my plan too. I'm taking all of Thanksgiving week off and starting it probably friday night. My front spring mounts should be done already at that point too so I won't have as much to worry about.

Ya, I was a little worried about your shackle angle until I saw you guys attacking it again on the webcam. The pic on your index page is what it should look like with weight on it, but it didn't have weight on it yet...

It's a puzzle, I don't want the shackles to lay so far back that they hit the frame during compression, but I also don't want them far enough forward to invert. We put a floor jack under the leaf when the mount was in the original position and pushed. It layed far enough back that it was obviously going to hit the frame with the weight of the truck. So, we moved the mount back and re-tacked it. Now the shackle is sitting at 76*. We are going to tack up the other side, then set the truck on a cross member under the springs and see what it looks like at rest before we move on.

Who are YOU calling "Punk"?!?!

hehehhe

Possibly, but mine won't be anywhere near as exciting. Half of the work will already be done by next weekend.
