SAS info

I am planning on SASing my 88 and am wanting to get some peoples opinions on who makes the best kit. Wether i should just design it myself or piece one to toghether from seperate companies. I also am going to do the twin transfer cases and want some advice/comments on that as well. Thanks in advance

OK- Start by checking out theToy Faq's on the Pirate-

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...hreadid=173918

lots of info to digest.........

Personally, I chose All Pro-

http://www.allprooffroad.com/index.html

they've been doing SAS conversion kits for a LOOONG time. There are many other companies selling kits.

here are a few of the better ones-

Toy conversion parts:

http://www.rockstomper.com/
http://www.sky-manufacturing.com/

adapters and gear sets and other goodies:

I personally like the http://www.frontrangeoffroadfab.com/ for the hanger kit. It's very stout. Marlin's steering arms are the best in the biz.

Sas It!!!!

Ive seen alot of good looking stuff out there but I'm gonna agree with Crawler. I've got the All Pro stuff on mine and it's awesome. That hysteer kit is great and my alignment is still dead on from when I bolted it up 9 months ago. I wheel and daily drive it also. My truck rides twice as good as it did with IFS. Don't count out the custom stuff though -- that'll save you money and score friends at machine shops and at ACE. Ace has a shoppers card now too so everyone make a mental note............

The Allpro Hysteer has some drawback. The geometry isn't quite right with any hysteer that works like that.

I've been very happy with Jim at www.inchwormgear.com Pricing was about the same as Marlin as was the quality and service was excellent. I like the fact that when I call, I actually get through. I had a heck of a time getting in touch with Marlin when I did mu dual case, they after a week, I find out that they're out of the gears and don't have a delivery date. The guys at Budbuilt hooked me up with Jim and in 3 days I had the complete dual case, with gears installed and the budbilt cross member. I suggest that you give Jim a call. He's great to work with!

Well it sounds like the All-pro is the way to go. I was leaning in that direction already i guess i just needed a little nudge to help me make up my mind. Also thanks for the info on inch worm. i had never heard of them so that helps out a ton.

Can't go wrong with allpro. Also, www.sky-manufacturing.com has some excellent deals! Too bad www.marlincrawler.com doesnt make a swap kit, because everything else he sells is TOP NOTCH! Check out my page for pics and stuff

I read your write up. Did you purchase a pitman arm puller yet? That grinding must have taken you hours, plus you toasted a perfectly good pitman arm.
