Took the "wing" in and had it media blasted. Had a chance today to paint it and make the sleeve for the frame that goes in the forward mount. This week I'll bolt it all in. Eventually, I'll make the hoop but right now I need to start the drivers side.

Well, with the paint dried and all the hardware present I bolted it on!!! I made a sleeve for the forward mount because that bolt goes thru the frame. The aft mount is part of the actual bumper bracketry and only goes thru the outer wall of the frame. Used locknuts on all bolts. With this wing on I now have a mechanical stop for the swingout that I did NOT have before. One of the many poor design characteristics of the rear bumper....
I did notice that I didn't countersink enough but I when I pull this thing off to add the hoop I'll bore those four out a little more.

I did take the floor jack and a piece of wood and jack up the truck right at the forward support. It did flex a little, which is fine, and will work well for jacking if need be.
Soooooooooo, now I have to do the drivers side....
