My Camping Trailer Project

Thank you!
I don't know yet. I was planning on round because it slides against stuff better and I want to carry some of the round tube work on the truck over to the trailer. But, it might look out of place since everything on the trailer is square. The fenders are going to be one of the last things I build, so we'll have to wait and see.

Round does look good on tube fenders, but Square is stronger against dings and dents. Though square is harder to bend, if that's the route you're going to go.
Based on your use of round tubing on the runner (which has square body lines) I know you can make it look as Amazing as your truck!!
Keep up the Great work and picture filled posts!!

That's what I was thinking, but after some more thought I think using square tubing might make the trailer look too boxy and like a surplus military trailer. That would be cool if I still had the old 4Runner, but I don't think it would go that well with the Turbo 4Runner. Thanks for the input!

Jeremiah, I started to mod my pop-up last week too. Gained a full 10" of clearance at the rocker from where it was and extended the tongue 3ft. I have 24" of clearance now and should be able to get this thing pretty much anywhere at this point.

That looks real good Scotty, you should be able to get that anywhere you would want to take a pop-up. When I had the Chief I wanted to extend the tongue the same way, more storage with the weight right where you want it to be. Any other plans for it?

We just did my neighbors today too. We're going to install one of the Harbor Freight 3000lb winches onto his to raise and lower his pop-up. I mocked it all up today and its going to work sweet. Just un-clip the locks, and use a wireless remote to put it up/down.
Takes about 15-20 seconds to put it up.

I’ve been pretty busy but I was able to get a couple things done on the trailer. I got the main floor installed, it’s just ½” plywood with several coats of Kilz paint. It still needs to be covered in some outdoor carpet and have the cargo tie downs installed. I also got a good start on the upper tent entry platform bracing; it will be covered by a piece of aluminum diamond plate. And I got some of the bracing for the firewood/trash storage completed.
I also installed the stainless steel box that will house some of the random electrical stuff and I got the shocks mounted. I didn’t take any pictures during the process but I did snap a couple after I parked it. The sun had just gone down so the lighting really sucks.
