homemade tool chest project

ok so what i want to do is build a 72" tool box for my garage to store all the new tools im getting for school

wants/needs
big 19 drawer drawer toolbox modeled after a big snap on
top cabinet that has a locking garage door type cover that hides everything, when its open i want there to be peg board on the back for hanging stuff like drills and impacts, standard outlets, and i flouresent light and everything needs to be lockable

suggestions?

questions
what should the weight capacity be on the drawer slides
where should i go to get decent ball bearing drawer slides (preferably cheap)
how long should the slides be if the tool box is going to be 20" deep
how should i set up the locking system for the bottom box

will post pics later of what i want to model the box after and give idea of the top box im talking about any help would be appreciated

dude. i work as a tech at a honda dealership. i know how much a snap on or matco box is. if you're trying to save money, do yourself a favor and go to harbor freight and get a U.S.General box. here, clicky the linky.

Wink

It will cost you far more in time and materials to build your own.

Then to go buy one. you will have as much invested as a good Snapon box.

Then some people have to learn things the hard way

I am sure we are all gonna be waiting for pictures:jessica:
