Here it is...

During the course of the fab work, the idea changed many times. I initially was going to have Jed at Armorology do a front and rear bumper, then we decided to do front bumper and sliders, then just the bumper. At some point in there, I upgraded to synthetic Amsteel winch line, charcoal color, and an aluminum hawse fairlead.

Note the turn signals, currently zip-tied to the lower supports. I can laugh, but not you! lol.

I may integrate them into the corner marker light housing, or use some aftermarket universal turn signals and mount them to the bumper (ala Ric!) Note also that I'll need some sort of skid plate to protect my radiator! Jed had a hard time with the fit of the bumper to the odd shapes and protrusions of the Tacoma's body. The end result is perfectly level and tight fitting up against the bottom of the grill. The side flares that meet up with the wheelwell flares jut outward a bit too much. This is a subtle issue, a non-issue really.

Off Road lights are in the "to-do" list, probably 4" PIAA's.

And, finally, my favorite part of the whole project...looking out from the driver's seat and seeing the stinger sticking up over the hoodline

Hey, where did you get your D shackles?

 

Dude Crux, I'm glad you asked about the D-Shackles, I was real pleased with them. They came from Murdoch's Ranch Supply store, on 287 in Longmont. From what I understand, Murdoch's used to be Big-R. They're 6.5 Ton rated 3/4", with black finish, and cost about $12 each. Although they're made in India, they're not stamped as such. I took the India sticker off, so nobody's the wiser! lol

looks good, as far as the turn signals go you should combine your running light as a blinker too check out this site I did it on my 2nd Gen and it was really easy

"if" i remember right, i believe the front bumper weighs about 100# (then you add my heavy winch) but i did loose less than 1/4" Ill have to ask Jed again what it does weigh, but there not as heavy as they look

Lol, not with OME 882s and KYB Monomax monotube hi-pressure shocks. And Ric's right, this bumper is light! How much lighter you figure it is with synthetic line and an aluminum fairlead Ric? 40 lbs? Lighter than a big bulky ass ARB, fo sho'. Maybe not as light as the AllPro value package, lol. Anyway, don't worry Mayhem, I'd be jealous too!

well the steel line is about 35#. Syn. line is 3#(with the hook) the roller fairlead is about 7#. Aluminum fairlead is less than a pound.

Spindleshanks, Armorology built a bumper for me that is very similar to yours. I looked at several options for the turn signals and decided on using motorcycle turn signals. I started by wiring the side markers but they were not bright enough to see and blinked twice as fast as they should. I went to a motorcycle shop and got turn signals for less than $20 that are on a flexible arm and blink at the correct rate. Let me know if you'd like to see a photo.
Jed does great work, my truck is heading back to his shop for sliders and a rear bumper.

 

Man I would love to find someone on the east coast to fab like that! I talked to the guys at Armorology about having one shipped and he said they only do custom fit stuff. I love that freaking bumper.
