Hi everyone, my name is Heidi and my god I finally found my way here! (you can blame SOAZ). Some of you may know me as Miss R2FJ on some other forums, but I finally got a truck of my very own (no more sharing!) so here I am.
It's a 98 4runner SR5, e-locker, etc etc. Of course now I'm practically unemployed so the modding has stopped before it really began, but hey I can still afford gas and that's what counts!
Sorry I don't really have any great pics, and I've only been able to get out on some dirt twice!
Seven Springs:

Soldiers Pass:

Anywho, I just wanted to check in and say hello...so hello! Hopefully I'll see some of you out at the clean up next weekend!
I also have some Smitty Built step bars for sale that came off the truck.....$125 if anyone is interested!

Welcome to YotaTech Heidi.
I was wondering about the name change, I saw it changed over at Expo I think.
Nice looking rig you picked up.
What are your mod plans for it?
Will you be putting a roof top tent on your new rig too, or just the FJ Cruiser?

Hey Corey,
Mods for this truck are going to be sloooow going. Like everyone else the economy is starting to hit my bank account and work isn't getting any better. The FJ will remain the main trail rig for camping and such, this is just my weekend fun to beat on so I can stop breaking stuff on the FJ!
Also I'm doing a lot of work with Lance on Disabled Explorers and I put a lot of miles on the FJ last year driving to events.
I'll probably just do a sleeping platform in the rear for me and the dog in case we end up somewhere by ourselves. I'm slowly gathering the parts I need for the lift and one of the FJ crew gave me his old set of BFG a/t's to try out.
After that, lots of plans but it all depends on cash flow!!

Cool, sounds good.
I believe there are some threads here with some custom sleeping platforms for 3rd gens.
Are you heading to the Overland Expo event?

I wish I could get the time off of work to attend it, but I can not.
That looks to be a very fun and informative event to go to.
I am pretty sure Lance will be attending.

I'm not sure if I am going yet or not....probably since its only an hour from my house. DE will have a display there and do a demo as well. Should be a cool event.
You should try to make it out for Sedonafest. Always a good time there! Are you planning on going to summit this year?

Probably not to the Summit, that also would be fun.
I get just a tad over three weeks of vacation plus a week of sick leave each year, and it pretty much gets used up.
I will be spending a week or so up at Mt. Rainier National Park for summer vacation, and will be using other vacation days to turn a normal weekend into a three or four day weekend to go camping.
So many places around here under a one to two hour drive to camp at.
I am only around an hour or so from Mt. Rainier.
Gotta start in figuring out a better way to carry all the gear I had last year.
I can condense a lot of it by packing batter.
The FJ fills up very fast with equipment.
Still looking to see what Camping Lab offers for a room attachment too for the awning I have.

Well IF they have a summit this year we will probably go but we are for sure doing a trip through northern Colorado and down the Kokopelli trail into Moab in July. Hoping to get out to Death Valley/Mojave/Joshua Tree in March. Right now since I work at the college I get all the school breaks which makes taking trips easy....but with all the budget cuts I don't know how much longer I'll be there so I may have to go back to a regular 9-5!
I still have a set of the mosquito netting walls for te CL awning, but I haven't heard anything about making up some solid walls. I'll contact Fernando and see if maybe we can get something in the works.
