Going to threadjack for a moment. But what benefit do you get from regearing in a sock vehicle? I thought that you normally regeared when you lift your truck and change tire sizes to regain some mpg and accleration?
Looks like I need to search though the hundred's of threads.
Good luck with the repair.

you know I have those tires. Remember Sedona. They are 33.3 inch tires so they are taller than 285/75/16's or over 2 inches taller than stock tires. The lift is mild, but I like the low COG.
Add in the 5 extra gallons of gas, 5 of water, gear, roof top tent, etc and the weight takes a lot of power.

I know those can be hard to reuse because of the staking required. In fact, I think Toyota doesn't want them to be re-used.... but what do they know.
I may have some nuts on 3rds sitting around, if you need one.

Hadn't realized initially that the gear shop was the one that messed up the nut. I thought you guys had some sort of issue in the garage putting the flange back on.

Did you not go with ZUK on the rear because he doesn't do the IFS diffs? 4Wheelers's Supply is another pretty good place to get gears setup. Hopefully everything will turn out good for you on this.

Live and learn. I have the diffs in the back of my girls car now. Lets hope they work...
Sorry if I sound frustrated. Its tough to spend this kind of money and worry whether it will all break so I'm stressing pretty bad.

So I get to Zuk's and he kindly takes the time to do a little look at the diff for us.
Zuk painted the gears and we took a look at the gear pattern.
Are you ready for an interesting pattern...
Even I could tell that this pattern was a bit more than slim. Pretty much as bad as it can get for a place to grab.
Zuk mentioned that the shims used were way to small. doh!
More to come later.
