Thanks Jeff. The Downey kit didn't change the width at all, it even kept the factory lower control arms.

As for the rack, I bought the truck from a buddy that used to do windmill repair on huge ranches in New Mexico. He would spend weeks at a time living out of the truck. He built the rack and had a tent that he would set up on it to get away from the rattle snakes. If you look closely, there was even a ladder that folded down at the rear.

That thing flexes really good for being an IFS. I don't think I've ever seen a IFS 1st gen flex that much, looks very functional.

Question for the Arizona yota-ers...anyone know the gentleman selling this:

http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/3432708624.html

friend is in the market for a truck...pushing him towards this one. how well do the stock 3.4s hold up to supercharging?

opinions on that guys set-up are welcome!

edit: some eye candy for us all...

The 3.4's hold up pretty good, but that doesn't matter. That truck is a 1gr-fe which is the 4.0. They are good motors, that truck is a couple miles out of the warranty and the 6spd trans left alot to be desired, not on par with previous transmissions in terms of durability.

cool that is good to know. think his asking price is about right? from other listings in Arizona seems like its a fairly good deal. just going to have to take it for a spin and see how everything works.

Tackling Lower Terminator

I hit Lower Terminator on the 27th. Not bad for an IFS...but I did need two rocks due to ground clearance God bless the Avid Offroad rock sliders & rear bumper (that's a plug for the local shop and yotatech member 'snowshredder555').

It took a lickin' and protected my rear 1/4 panel just as intended!

Yes there was a little help, but who says IFS can't go wheeling

Oh yeah...I'm sporting the Krylon 'Italian Olive' (Field Green) rattle can paint job.

Looks like fun Bob! I've been wanting to check out the Table Mesa area for awhile, maybe you could guide a run sometime? We're about due for another group run anyway!

Replicant- Could be Ted (Snowshredder555), he's out in that general area.

It was a good time and the trail system has changed a lot since I was last in the area. Much is closed off now but the main road back (9998?) is well marked and all of the side trails like Lower Terminator are marked "TV#" with the "#" being a sequential number. TV mean Technical Vehicle trail. Easy to find too.

I did not check out Upper Terminator, but from what I am told its for buggies and truggies... I think I got pretty lucky to have no body damage on the RR quarter panel. The tube bumper guard being higher than most others I think saved it from being caved in.

I'm up for a run. I have also not had my own rig at Hackberry Creek yet either.

Bob- Happy they saved the bacon this time. How bad of a gouge was there or did it just scrape the paint?

Oh yeah, thanks for the plug BTW.

And I'm diggin that little Zuk.. was it running a diesel engine? Sounded like it?

Damage to the bumper was just surface scuffs. That's what they are made for! I took a file to the wound to knock the edges down and already sprayed it.

I met those two other guys at the lower terminator trail head. Both guys and rigs were very cool. Both were Zuks - the truggy was propane and the short bus (as it was named) was gasoline i think. Too funny - that 'diesel noise' would be *my* 22RE valvetrain noise

Alright then, good to hear it performed as designed.

That is funny! Wasn't sure though and the "short bus" is the one I was liking...that Olive drab one's okay too.

Hey everyone,
I'm down to hit the trails. We did do Lower Terminator on the 5th. It was a great time, but my 1/4 panel was not as lucky. Wouldn't mind running Hackberry Creek.
