Try everything in 2WD first. Then if forward progress ceases, then throw it in 4L. The first time out with mine, 4WD was an on again off again gremlin for me...managed most of BJ in 2WD. A couple spots I did need to be strapped though....but it was kinda cool seeing both tires throw the dirt together. I'm saying this more for ˟˟˟˟˟˟ and giggles than anything else....it maybe a good comparison.

Since no one else has responded to this, I will. If beeline is where the chevron is at, maybe 10 miles. But if its the same road that I'll be taking out, it might be right off of it. I'm not 100% sure though.

This is a map to get to Buther Jones:

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=...-8&sa=N&tab=wl

This is the map to the Chevron:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=10180 ...OWELL,AZ 85264

Overall, its about 13 miles from the gas station to the Butcher Jones parking lot.
Im not sure I'll be able to get back online between now and tomorrow morning so if you have any questions feel free to give me a call: 480 209-5815

Wish I did, I'll keep an eye open for ya. Have you checked out eBay or rockauto.com yet? For me, if its not on Craigslist or eBay then rockauto is my choice for new parts...I know you're not looking for new but if you need ASAP, then rockauto.com usually beats autozone or the other parts stores and you'll usually have it with in 3days. Just a though....also, car-parts.com.....best place to look for anything vehicle related. It combines a lot of the salvage yards across the nation and is a great place to locate OEM stuff. Just trying to help. Alma Imports is one thats local to phoenix, but it seems most everyone already knows of them.

thanks, shredder....i searched everywhere in PHX and had no luck on a used one. Bit the bullet and got one from NAPA for $70. Should have it in my hands by noon. Hopefully there's no residual issues from me driving with 2 blades missing for 80miles or so. Truck was shaking like it had a big block in it!

yesterday was pretty awesome! Can't wait to do go out again!!

Another place you can check is:

http://www.aara.com

It is similar to the one Ted mentioned, but it only queries Arizona yards.

Anyone know what the deal was with all the "trail closed" signs out there? Saw a bunch of them on the way out, like every little trail off of the main path had a closed sign on it.
