Jeff- I'm a little biased to Deaver spring as well. For the coin you can weigh the rear loaded and unloaded and they'll make a pack specific to your needs. I have an acquaintance (Sean P.Holman) who swears by em'. I've known him since I first got into wheeling with Rangers and that's how I heard of them. If you google Deaver Springs you should pull up nothing but good comments about their products and service. IIRC they're located in Santa Ana Ca. My route (years ago) passed right by their shop and it now reminds me of where I'm at...they may have moved..but don't know. I know we've talked about the rear suspension before but thought you were content...anyhow, maybe no more 3 wheel motion for you huh?...reminds me of an IceCube song I once heard..

More flexy= More fun!! Ive taken some pretty fast tight turns in my truck, trying to get the feel for what it can actually handle. I couldn't get a tire off te ground even when I was trying. Ride height isn't really a factor for me, but my super flexy rear actually handles decent.

Rear Pics
Rear leaf shot with Downey 2" lift and Deaver Nissan Frontier mini-leaf pack. The PO also installed the U-bolt flip kit and relocated the bottom shock mounts.

Close up - the bottom two short leafs replaced the large thick overload spring. You can read up on axle wrap if you want. Its the supposed down side of removing that leaf, but I have never had a problem.

I can't find my real camera and I needed to cut off my daughter's pink Barbie bikes from the picture
, but you can't really see the angle by photo. The yellow thing on the softtop rail is a level

The bubble on the level shows that the back end is higher than the front.

Hope this helps.
Oh yeah - I did all the work myself in two weekday evenings. MUST have good 6" or 8" c-clamps to do a proper job. I have 4" c-clamps and I worked but they did not have very long t-handle to crank the leafs together. I bent the piss out of the handles and even mashed the threads a little.

Bob- I really like the color you chose for the 4Runner...helps the black on the armor kinda POP! a little more. It'd be great to get some full size photo's of the swing out thingy you have on the back there..We'd love to add em to our collection on Avids FB page.

Looks like I'm gonna have to put any mods on hold for now. The motor on my pool pump took a dump and the housing on the impailer cracked. $600 and an hour later, I replaced the last thing on my pump system that was there when I bought the house 10 years ago - but on a good note, its a more powerful motor so I don't have to run it as long everyday and its much quieter.

Ohhh! Sorry man...mine is getting ready to let go too. I'm not getting the Psi reading I use to get and it seems like it sucking air in too. Filter basket before the pump isn't filling like it should and there isn't alot of pressure at the airator either. Since I'm no pool repair man, the wife wants me to call in for back up. But I think it's the pump/impeller housing..but again don't know for sure.
Glad to hear it's all working like it should now.

Flash Gordon - He Saved Every One of Us...
Too funny.
Today I found out that I had a brush with fame back in 2009. I was responsible for the off-road durability for the 5th Gen 4Runner which ultimately ended with a Baja 1000 run. It was a loop race out of Ensenada, but Toyota policy required us to have security with us (unnecessary in my mind but who was I to argue, I was on the clock and getting paid to race...).
Anyway, today I found out that the head of that detail was Sam Jones, the guy who played Flash Gordon the the self-titled movie and opposite Bo Derek in "10". I remember his name as such but never did the math. I looked him up and surer than hell it was him.

He never mentioned his fame the whole week we were together and I spent a lot of time with him. On the other hand, he was a little over the top in terms of his job, especially the way we were driven around. It was as if we were a presidential motorcade - blocking traffic, etc. I guess if I saved the world from Ming the Merciless I would be a little over the top too
