Mine?
The 97 has 207k and seems fine so far, changed all the plugs, fluids and filters, runs like a top. Next is shocks and rubbers (bushings etc)

The 96 has 170k and I have no issues to speak of. (knock on wood) But the original owner was meticulous and LOADED...I have stacks of Toyota service records for everything from the bug guards to the transmission on that truck.

I'd get the vin# if you can, call a Toyota dealer and see what the service records look like...my 97 was exclusively serviced by the dealership until 2006. Made me a bit more confident in the purchase.

What CB channel do you guys usually run? Just installed mine today and was thinking about it.....

I'll be on a CB and the little hand held radios. No specific channel yet

My wife and daughters are in for sure. I need to finish up some wiring tonight and get it aligned tomorrow and I'll be good to go.

So far the non-YT vehicles are as follows

mine is an '87 4Runner with a fair amount of mods
'86 stock 4WD 4Runner
'87 stock 4WD pickup (total newb and live entertainment )
Jeep Cherokee with a mild lift and lockright in the back

Should be a good time.

Since you are close by, we are shooting for 8am. That will get us at the top around noon - good time for lunch.

Do you have any pics you could pm me. Been trying to find a place to mount mine that I've had for a couple of weeks now. The only places logical are the little cubby just in front of the stick shifter, on the knee plate under the steering wheel. I've thought about fabbing a bracket up to go between the headliner and rearview mirror but that would impede access to the sunroof controls....I'd like to do this once and only once, without destroying any thing.

I mounted mine in the space under the aftermarket CD player...takes a bit of cutting on the plastic pocket to get it in. I have a pretty small Cobra 40ch. I also thought of mounting it in the drivers door pocket or inside the center console.

Punkelberg- Thanks for the PM and posting up here. I'm still undecided as to the mount. I think I've found a solution but WILL require some bracket making. Thanks again.

That's the one I have too. That way you don't have to worry about the install.
I also like not having it in the truck all the time.

Cobra also has one with a handheld attached to a main body that can be mounted anywhere in the truck. Ted, I know you are trying to mount something you already have, but if you don't find a satisfactory spot, I wouldn't just settle. CBs are so cheap now you can just get something that will work the way you want it to and ditch the other here or on CL.

I actually picked one up on Walmart's website. Took it back cause it was HUGE! Then found the one I have that was an exchange for the one I ordered at half its size. I bought it cause it was cheaper and smaller. The ones with the remote boxes are a bit pricey, at least the ones I was looking at were. Maybe I'll find something on CL, but I haven't looked yet. I'm still spending money on the front end components so the CB has only been opened and admired. I can still return it if I find one better (smaller) with a remote box.

What model do you guy's run and what choice of antenna?
Thanks...

http://www.google.com/products/catal...d=0CHYQ8wIwAg# Midland 75 822

http://www.google.com/products/catal...=0CJQBEPMCMAA# Cobra 75 WX ST

I have the Midland as linked above. I guess I'd have to have other people chime in here but I think my CB (but really ALL CBs) kinda suck. I've been on trips with guys that have 2 meter radios and they gab away all day with no issues but when we switch to CB it seems like there is always someone that is loud and clear, someone that can hear but can't be heard, and someone that can't hear but can be heard, blah blah. Since it's multiple trucks with multiple set ups, I figure it's just the archaic nature of CB tech. But then maybe it's just my junk. I also have a Wilson "Lil Wil" magnetic mount antenna that I put up on the roof that has supposedly has been tuned. I wanted the whole shebang to be able to come off the truck with minimal effort.

I think Stacey has that Cobra. On Sunflower, I could here them very well. But again, I'm not sure they could hear me. I'll have to check with Jeff.

GliderAz- Are those hankook dyna pro mt's I see? Looks like all 4 match...CL find?

Mr.Angrybob- How did everything hold up for you? We were worried it'd rattle a bit was this the case? Really looking forward to some more feedback on how we did. PM your impression's if you would?

Bmxjedi- Did you add a stinger to the front end? Don't remember it from last weekend.

Punkelberg- Didn't want to take the Anthricite?

Looks like everyone had fun. I have to widdle down the honeydo list a bit more before I can play again. But I'm making progress on it.

Hmm. Let me know which one you end up going with. I felt like I was starting to lose mine at WoodPecker part way through the trail and nursed it along. I think the OEM replacement might do better, but then, I haven't researched any of them. On a side note, I had to go through and replace the ball joints (passenger side till I have more time) and ended up buy the c-clamp style remover. If you end up doing yours this will def. help and save frustration. Hit me up when you're ready, if need be.

Wow, that's a bargain. I don't think my suspension on the 90' was up to the task of the unsprung weight of 35's so I didn't have a favorable opinion of them. With the only exception being, for as an aggressive tread pattern that they have, you'd expect em' to howl going down the road. This was not the case with mine...even at 70+ mph. Just as quite as the RockyMountain AT's I have on the 97' if not quieter.
