Hey Mike, if you're interested in getting rid of any of those lights, (say like the ones on the bumper), I'll take em off your hands. PM me a price and we can start a tire fund going for you. And if you need a set of slider or fab work, you know who to come to...And congratulation's on the two of you being able to work out a deal.
AngryBob, have you had a chance to paint and finish drooling over the new stuff you picked up yet? At least long enough to take pictures? I'd like to see it all painted and what not..you know?

Heh - been out of town a bit lately so I haven't been off-road in a while. After tomorrow, I am off until January 3 - WOOHOO!
My holiday to do list is as follows:
Paint new locally built AVID Offroad rear bumper (badass btw) & my improved rock sliders
Install new front diff with ARB (and the air compressor, electrical, etc.)
Install rock lights
Finish diamond plate interior rear side panels / stereo fab and install
I'll be busy but it'll be fun. I am up for wheeling any day but will be in Tucson Dec 30 - Jan 1.
I'll post pics soon.
Ted - how much do you think that bumper weighs? Is removal a 2-person job? I don't need my nads any more since I have my kids already so I might solo the extraction to paint
Anyone know where to get the POR-15 primer locally?

If the initial results of MPG aren't brutal, such as 10 or 12 mpg, then I'll move on to see what else can be done to help out. I figure I can yank the lights off the roof to see if it makes any difference for free. If it doesn't then back up they go. If it does, I'll have to put on my thinking cap to see what might be done. Things that will cost money will come later like manual hubs. On the tires, I have to get some one way or another but I'm wondering if something smaller and skinnier might help along with some alloy rims that I already have in order to reduce unsprung weight. But again, for now, I'm just trying to get some baseline info of what the truck can do. I think I can live with 16 mpg but less will require some further thought.
OK, just read my post and I see that I'm babbling.

Hey guys. I got a Toytec ultimate lift in the mail for my 2000 4unner. I have no interest nor the time to install it myself right now. Any recommendations on what shop to go to in the Valley for a professional install? I live in Peoria. Thanks.

yea the runner actually ran quite well with those tires peepy little thing aint it? glad your liking it, we drove around a bit today to start getting a feel for it way different than ifs that's for sure, but we like it can't wait to get it off road we may try to go up to table mesa friday night to run with azfj and see what happens

angrybob; removal is definitely a 2 person deal. Just the bumper alone should take 2. Then figure in the other portion of it and just the awkwardness of the whole thing can off-set ya. The nad's are important..even if just there for asthetics. Please, have an extra set of hands at the ready...and don't be afraid to disassemble the joint between the two...an extra cotter pin is cheap enough and separating the two sides lighten's the load and its easy enough.
BLKNBLU; Good idea on getting the baseline's first. With the auto, it's my understanding the MPG goes down a little...easy enough to find info around here. Well, I was just trying to help with the funding portion of this new project. I hope it takes on the BLKNBLU charm.

Great to hear! It will be nice for you to already know what the payoff is when you are slugging it out with whatever re-body project you decide to do.
Yeah, Steve definately has the geometry of these things worked out.

Merry Belated X-mas and stuff, guys....FINALLY got rid of the TrailBlazer today and had a "new" 97 3.4l 5speed in less than 40min! Picked it up pretty cheap, $2700....haven't dove in to it too deep yet, front bumper is toast, gonna steal the bumper from the 96' and then build a mild stinger for that one. Mamma has "permanently" got custody of the SC 98' as she can't drive a stick...yet!
Pic's will follow once I get some $$$ and put new shoes on her, should be a good mild alternative the the gas-hog SC!

Yea, I want 'em! How much meat is left on the SS's? And anyone know if these will fit for sure on my 3rd Gen? (the wheels more than the tires.)
#1279
the tires might have a quarter tread left, but they have been wheeled hard and are chewed up, they do have some life left, i bought them last friday put em on sat drove it about 80 miles just too big for my yota. As far as the rims go im pretty sure they will work
