Well might as well get this over with.
In a moment of inattention and stupidity I flopped the truck on its side yesterday. No excitment. No obstacle. No pics for now of the carnage because I just can't do it.
Basically, done for the day, driving down the road to the hwy, looking at scenery and drinking a soda. That's how I let a tire get off the edge and that was that. We got it upright easily, it started right up and ran home fine but the body is fubar. Currently thinking about options.
Glideraz has some pics and I think they were just waiting for me to post before putting them up. Feel free guys and thanks for all the help and support to you and AZ4ME.

too.I am soo sorry! I can't imagine how I would feel if that were to happen to me. Which side did you flop on? any chance of just replacing body panels? For what its worth, I have an extra set of doors I got to someday make half doors out of, and an extra black roof you are more than welcome to. I see 1st gen body parts on CL and ebay all the time. Plus there are those import only yards around town that have plently of parts. Not to mention yotayard.com
If there is anything I can do to help, please please please let me know.
First Butcher Jones, now this - I think we need a
right about now.

Body panels aren't going to do it, but thanks. The whole cab box is tweaked. At first glance, it doesn't look too bad, but the doors dont close right, the windows go up and down hard, and there is no way a windshield is going back in there.
It appears that everything powertrain, driveline, suspension-wise is OK. So I have to think about whether I want to sell off the expensive bits to raise dough for a fresh start or find a clean body on a blown up truck for a body swap.

Yeah, I'm fine. Flopped on the passenger side so I was just kind of hanging there in my seatbelt. Glad I didn't have a passenger along (Ted). Not sure how it would have gone for anyone sitting over there.

SOLD
Right. So I'm going to need some dough.
These tires were going to be a temporary solution for me when my swampers wore out. Now they can just move on to someone that can use them. They were on my truck for maybe 6 months and 2-3 wheeling outings. They still have alot of tread left, but do show some chunking from the wheeling. Also note that they have date codes from 2001 so they are ten years old and may wear quickly once they get back in service. No obvious sidewall cracking and they hold air fine. The rims are in excellent condition. They were nearly unused when I got them off CL way back when and as mentioned, were used very little by me. 15x8 and 4 inch backspacing. I'll throw them to you local guys first, then Craigslist next week sometime.
EDIT: Sorry, forgot to mention that they are 35/1250/15 and the size doesn't really show up at all in the pics.
$200

Mike- Holy crap! Well, we can look at this in one of two ways.
1- Damnit Ted! If you were here, I know you would've caught me drinking and driving...
2- Thank God you weren't here! My insurance would've gone through the roof!
From Me: Glad you're OK! Now, a torch can help coax any metal into shape...I just happen to have a setup with 2 tanks of each gas/o2...just say the word. I say, let's get it back to where it use to be..close enough anyway...and then "EXO CAGE" that beast. I'm here at your disposal to do what I can. Even what I can't...um..yeah, something like that. I'm working to get those wheels/ tires sold for you...letting everyone I can think of know.
-Ted
PS. Pics please...I want to see what my guardian angel saved me from.

Have anyof you guys been to butcher jones lately? I went last friday with a friend and it seemed like all of the trails were closed! Its almost not fun anymore, having to find trails you can actually go on.
#1179
i was there Sunday - everything is closed except the first 2 coves. We drove around for 3-4 hours looking for an altenate way that wasn't closed to get to the other coves - no such luck. We ended up taking the trail that went to 4Peaks road then back to the highway home. We need to find a new place to frequent. I think I'm going to go do some exploring on Saturday to see if I can find us another set of trails that lead to some kind of waterfront. anyone up for some trail hunting this weekend?
