A suggestion from the peanut gallery:

You guys could meet at the Arby's on Shea just off the 87.

http://maps.google.com/maps/place?hl...18366967825993

None of the businesses there are open in the morning so the parking lot is empty. There is a gas station just up and across the road in case anyone needs to top off. Roni can take the 101 around to the Shea exit then come across. Jeff and Ted, don't forget that Gilbert road connects to the 87 as well. It would be easy from Ted's to take the 202 around to Gilbert. It would take you a little out of your way but with non stop freeway driving it would be totally worth it. If you do that keep in mind that you get off the 202 at McDowell and scoot over to Gilbert. There is no Gilbert exit in that direction. Look at it in a close up on Mapquest and you'll see what I mean.

That is all from the guy that isn't going.

Mike- You're just filled with all kinds of good info! And, from my point of view, there's no need for the "YAP" smiley...good info is good info...thanks by the way.

Jeff- I like Mikes idea...meet up at the Arbys...it has an address. Just give me 2 pennies, tell me rub em' together in the corner of a round room...I'll be there all day...Just pick me up on the way home please.

-Ted

P.S.- I have a photo of my first try at oxy-aceltyene welding...do you guys mind if I show em' here? They're just the coupons they give in class with my practice beads.

Ted - What Mike said is what I wanted to tell you over the phone - I told you he was the best ever!!! Thanks Mike!

I was at the office and didn't really have a chance to type all that

Does anyone else have a CB? I do, so if anyone else has one we should agree on a channel and go from there.

Does anyone have an opinion of a time to meet up? if not, I'm still game for meeting at Butcher Jones around 10am - hows that sound??

Jeff- I have a CB perm. mounted. Normally for the best SWR most if not all are best on channel 20. I can dial mine in cause it has the SWR meter control. IF someone else is on that channel we can always switch around. And Arbys sounds good to every one? I think if we meet at Arbys, say around 9:00 am that should give us plenty of time to top off the tanks and make a leisurely journey to the trail head. I'll be following Jeff, apparently you know where you're going as I don't..(except for the map you've provided) <---I do better with pictures anyhow.

808nickh- I really hope you can make it...more people = more fun...for me anyways...

Roni-WOOOHOOOO! We're goin wheelin', We're goin wheelin! (said like they did on WHITE MEN CANT JUMP for Sizzler) Oh...and here's those pictures. This was my first time with the torch to lay some dimes...doesn't look perfect but I think it's good for a NOOB!

Alright, for those of you with experience who will be looking at these, please dont flame me...as I said earlier, first time torch welding. However, all comments are welcome as well as opinions...just be nice, please.

Is the 140 a 110v? If so, you and I may have to get together and build some stuff! I'd like to use a quality welder other than my 90amp 120v mig/flux...no gas so the welds come out really dirty. Grab my wire wheel and clean em' up and they dont look half bad.

Oh and those welds in the picture's are from an Oxy-Acetylene torch... For the first semester of my welding class we're learning Oxy-Acetylene (first 7 1/2 weeks) then Arc/ Stick welding (last 7 1/2 weeks). The great thing about learning Oxy is that I have the whole welding set-up at my fiance's parents house just waiting for me to go pick it up...bad new's, is it's in California--we're going there, not this weekend but the next one. Then I can practice all day long, at least until the gas runs out and needs to be refilled.

So Arbys is a good meeting point?

Welcome...

Hellllllllooooooo!

Jim_M and robo4130....does the 4130 stand for anything? Like a metal grade?

robo4130- As for the high CO content for emmissions...Exhaust Gas Modulator...ASSUMING you have a 3.oh so slow aka (3.0) V6. If it's the 22re I dont know...maybe the same thing. Or the EGR valve...Usually you can take it off and clean it...there's a diaphram in there that is controled by vacum..sometimes it gets so caked with carb...what you can do instead of buying a new....check first: take it off the engine, in the bottom there should be a tube/ hollow piece that you can push in and it should spring back out (with a small screwdriver or piece of rod appropriatley sized) if this doesn't happen easily (though some force is necessary) get some carb. cleaner and shoot some in this small tube, let it soak for a short period (depends on how gunked up it is for how long), and try and work the plunger free, you should be able to work it free and feel/ here the suction from the diaphram doing it's thing...I had to do this to mine to get it to work again...saved me some money, but EGM had to be replaced. Hope this help you out.

RONI HAM, TURKEY, TOMATO, LETTUCE, PICKELS, MUSTARD AND MAYO...ON A ROLL OR WHEAT JUST NO ONIONS...But I guess beggers can't be so choosie...and today was a blast...we'll have to go again in about 2 weeks...going to Ca. next weekend and might be ready (with 4WD fully operational) the next... we'll see so lets start planing something...I'd like to do Butcher Jones again and conquer that hill YOU HAD TO STRAP ME UP ON
I'll send what video I have to your email and you can put it together what you're going to edit..

Jeff- Roni said it best...Thanks for being our tour guide...you down for another run in the next couple of weekends? Oh and thanks again for a good time man...I know I had alot of fun.

-Ted

Hell yea guys - yesterday was awesome! No problem at all - I'm glad I was able to take you somewhere new and fun - I really love it out there. I'm looking forward to getting out there again with you guys... as soon as we all have full time functioning 4WD hahaha!! And like I said before, I try to go out there as often as I can, so if you ever want to head that way (or anywhere else) count me in!

Roni - I just saw this posted this morning:

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f11/...z-90-a-227887/

a set of 1 1/2 BJ Spacers - its time you join the club! I can help you install them anytime - I've done it a few times now and I have all the necessary tools. We'll just have come up with a way to lift the rear a bit to match - either some new leafs, longers shackles, or heaven forbid - blocks!

I'll send you guys the pics/vid as soon as I can get them all downloaded.
