Oh yeah certainly not something I can do in the garage on a weekend. I know of only one really good welding/fab guy around town and he is booked from here until April. I would much rather just take a weekend and have everinything cut, reloacted, and welded on where it needs to be. Then I can take the next day and bolt everything on. Is your guy fair on pricing? I would like to keep the labor charges down to a minimum, but if he can doa good job I certainly don't mind paying the cost.
Man I can't beleive you found a set-up like that with all the stuff already hooked up, your suck dude. That is unless you can help my with those gears and such, then you would no longer suck.

the only arb that might work is for an 84-85 mini
thats the only possibilty i see
i called an arb dealer and they said no way they make one for any sas trucks only stock models........nothin for a custom suspension like a sas. who told you this?? they said the 84-85 is a solid axle (duh) but they didnt know if the bolt holes would line up since the front end is 2-3" shorter
give me more info on where you heard this i am VERY interested since mine is chopped to hell BUT still 100% usable just a little weak for a winch w/o welding to the frame which makes removel and winch repair a bitch

i cant remember where i originally heard that. I know jason and i were talking about it recently but maybe we are wrong.
take some pics of what you did to modify yours. From what ive seen you dont have to "chop it to hell" to get it to go back on. . .
"My front TJM bumper was designed as a two piece unit. The first piece bolts onto the front frame rails and then the bumper attaches to the mount. After the leaf springs were installed the front spring hangars prevented the reattachment of the bumper mount. I had All Pro cut out the bottom part of the bumper mount so that the mount could again slide on. The bumper mount used 2 holes on each front frame rail as part of the mounting. After cutting off the part of the mount these attachment points could no longer be used. As an alternate mounting point, I welded a 3" wide strip of 1/4" plate steel on the front frame crossmember. I then drilled 5 holes along the strip and through the mount. This allowed the use of 5 bolts to hold the bottom of the bumper "

Jeremy and I " heard " this from a person @ ARB sales in Washington state, and we also " heard " this from another ARB dealer. I've never seen one personally, but I thought I've seen pics on the web and heard plenty of talk about them on the old Outdoorwire forum... maybe somebody's wrong, but I've had that idea in my head for about a year now... The guy I called at ARB in Washington earlier this week told me that he'd get back to me on a quote w/ shipping. WTF?

everything does come from washington state..........takes about a week to ship so they probally know exactly what ARB sells
the guy i spoke with is a Charlotte dealer mostly Jeep but do sell OME kits for 4runners (he said no way 33's would ever fit a 4runner -- It's a Jeep Thing) so the info he has is probally not complete and bias to the almighty Jeep
i really didnt hack it to hell but it sure does feel like it since i paid out the a$$ for it -- as for strength i cut all the holes that hold it to the bottom of the front frame rails which is gonna cause a real weak point for extraction/winching. i can do somthin like that TJM mod with the bolts but still requires welding a support peice where i cut
i will take some pics since i got the welder hooked up i will be finished with the front today -- bumper mounted, shock hoops, bumpstops, stearing stabelizer installed
keep me posted on the sas arb bumper

Since you've got access to a welder, I'd just brace up your bumper geometrically... The TJM's are a bad design IMHO w/ the sliding feature since I've seen several TJM's that were tweaked due to double line pulls... the culprit? The aforementioned " feature ".
As for the SAS bumper, we'll know later today. Obviously WA is 3 hours behind us, so I can't call yet. It's the AU guys that will have the ultimate answer!

That looks really good Matt. It looks like you got the rear raised a little more since last we saw it, what did you end up doing? I have got to get some of this AP stuff coming in and start lining up some welding time, Matt are you handy enough and confident enough in your welding to weld for me?
Good luck with the ARB Jermey, hope that guy in Washington state comes through for ya, ARB capital should know better than anyone.

Oh well it was worth a shot. Maybe I can get Chris(isn't that who welded your suspension) to weld for me. Maybe he could come to your place and we could do the welding there. If that's cool with you of course. I just hate not being able to weld, I'm gona take some classes this summer, but I can't wait that long :pat:

Matt's "stacked dimes" are perfect for your frame. Welding is easy and we can teach you what we know
I want Chris to bring the bender cause we just bought $300 of 1.75" DOM tubing and $300 of 2" DOM. 120ft of slider material
