Awesome. I will certainly be watching for the release of the complete swap kit. I have been drooling for years at the idea of a diesel under the hood of my 4Runner. However, I'm pretty limited in the way of fab skills so a comprehensive kit would certainly be appealing

Hello again,
I've been hard at work cranking out adapter kits. I'm currently seeking out a V6 truck so I can get a kit designed for it. I've made some minor changes to my adapter kit. I've seen the starter fail to properly engage in a couple different scenarios, so I've started including a new dust cover laser cut from galvanized steel, and a galvanized starter spacer. The dust cover will space your starter out the factory spacing from the flywheel, and the spacer will space it out another 0.1". Some aftermarket flywheels have needed additional spacing, which is why I've started including a spacer. Here are some shots of the new plate and dust cover:

Thanks for the interest,
Joe

Out of sheer curiosity have you given any consideration to adapter plates for 4cyl Honda VVT hemi head engines? Some of the Honda engines have a good power to weight ratio and small package size that would make a nice modern replacement for the 22r engine.

Hmmmmmm If you have the patterns for both transmissions thats half the battle. I think there are engineering drawings available for almost any modern engine. Once the centerline is established it should be possible to mate almost any engine to W56 or R150. My thinking was the Honda H22A VTEC DOHC engine from a prelude(very popular w/ tuner community). It would open up a lot choices. Once you have each kit coded you let the CNC spit them out on an as sold basis, no inventory required.
Sounds like a lot of Fun!

That is why you have the degree and I don't.
But it still is fun to create things that did not exist before, from nothing more than than slabs & rods of metal.
I'm glad you are having fun doing this, and I'm sure your customers are very happy you created the kits!

That logo looks great! For me personally doesn't have to be fancy or detailed, just to be able to see contact info, maybe a few FAQ about shipping, payment, etc plus a product page to boot with a picture of two greatly influences my impression of the company in a good way.
Separate URL would be sweet, then you would start to show up in google results I believe?

can you put the dimensions of the w56 in a picture or a cad file, I dont need the OM617 dimensions, I am not looking to make a OM617 conversion, I want to build a VW TDI conversion adapter for my truck but I cant find an accurate dimensions of the W56 trans belhousing, they all have been measured with a tape measure. I already have the TDI dimensions from a factory drawing and I just need the W56. Thanks

My website is under construction, but I at least have it up with my contact info so you can get a hold of me to make orders, until I get the online store set up.

I have one of those bell housings. I paid $250 for it back some years ago not knowing for sure if I would use it. I'm not sure about demand but I imagine it would be easy to do since you already have the "numbers" for both ends. So I would put it out there and make them custom order, pre-paid basis. That way you are not carrying inventory, just a CAM file.
