Gas tank skidplate for 3rd gen 4runners

NOW AVAILABLE
Gas tank skidplate for 3rd gen 4runners

After years of cringing every time I hear my stock skid drag on rocks, I decided it was time for some serious protection. I was going to just build one for myself but wanted to make them available to all 3rd gen owners.

It takes a lot to start a business. Bank accounts, registering a business name, setting up PayPal and getting a retail license. Everything is now in place and I'm ready to take orders.

Just drill out the welds on the emissions bracket. You will know what I am talking about when you get to it.

Does this skid help with the drive shaft interference issues some experience when running lifts/longer rear shocks? Also, what's the weight?

Looks great, very nice work!

It sits ~1/16" away from the gas tank. It also steps in further forward than the stock skid. The stock mount by the flange is straight in line with the flange. Ours is angles to the rear so there isn't contact from the flange and my mount. There have been a couple of improvements made to increase clearance on my latest batch. The only way to gain driveshaft/u-joint clearance would be to have no protection next to the tank.

It weighs 44lbs.

Nice work! I have been looking for a skidplate(front) do you make these as well? I have looked all over but can't find one without the bull guard and the only companies selling them are very expensive.
