Twin stick

My next project is something that should have been done right away, but I've been too busy beating on the truck until now. Anyone have any experience with either the Front Range or Marlin kit for a twin stick? I haven't found the need yet for crawler gears but the front Detroit is wearing me out so I figure this is an easy fix, and Front Range has a pretty good deal on their kit right now. Any input??

I have the one from Front Range and I like it alot.

Part of me likes it because it adds toys.

The other part of me likes it because it frees up a lot when turning, even with the ARB disengaged. I used it quite a bit in Moab.

Install is straight forward, pull two plugs, whack a pin out and bolt it down. Just have a good magnet handy to snag the pin.

I was under the impression you have to pull the transfer case to do this. Are you saying you can do it without dropping the case, or did you just leave that easy step out?
My only hesitation is that if I drop the case I will be tempted to put in crawler gears or a doubler, even though I don't feel like I need them right now. Just can't leave well enough alone, although the temperature in my garage doesn't encourage extra work right now.

I messed with the case out of the truck. It as for another rig.

You do not have to open the case, but I think it would be easier to have it out of the rig.

I pulled the interlock pin from my t-case before I reinstalled it after getting it rebuilt. While it could be done in the truck, I think it would be far easier to pull the case. Lots of chances for dropping metal pieces down into the case during the mod and then you need to pull it anyway. It took me half a day to get mine modified with the case out. Might have been harder since it was a freshly rebuilt case and I think there was a lot of heavy assembly lube and grease inside.
