Total Chaos vs. Camburg A-Arms

Can someone tell me the differences between the Total Chaos and Camburg A-Arms other than price?

Thanks!

Actually this is the right place to post, joe.

Bobby, are you talking the full kit...upper and lower arms? or just the uppers?

The full LT kits are quite different. Most notably (for 3rd Gen), being that Camburg has beefy boxed lower arms. Much stronger in my opinion.

I'm not sure if there is much difference with the uppers....although someone else might know.

Just the uppers for a 4th gen. The Camburgs are $140 cheaper than the Total Chaos but I'd like to know the difference before I make a decision.

Parts and materials used along with how it is designed and manufactured. I've personally only used the TC arms so my comments may be biased but I've had no problems with them when I used to have em.

One question that came up was drilling out the steering knuckle for the bigger bolt to the UCA. Is this necessary with the TC arms? How about the Camburg?

Both kits are bolt on. Many say it's the same but the difference is key not in the actual design (look and feel is pretty much the same) but rather the materials used and the manufacturing process.

I'm all for TC's products as I've sat in many vehicles with them along with my own which now has their Long Travel kit. Quality is there. It's just a matter of whether or not you can afford it.

Good luck

I ordered a set of Camburg UCA's. I think they'd be fine for what I use my 4runner for.

My stock UCA ball joint failed with a Daystar 2.5" lift and Revo 265/70-17 tires. No other suspension mods. This happened in NYC going over a bump and launched the truck up, fully extending the front suspension.

I took my 4runner to Paragon Adventure Park last year to do a little offroading with the same setup and it worked out fine. I don't do any serious offroading and my main reason for getting the 4runner was to go snowboarding (M3's aren't very good in the snow when lowered).

I'm still waiting on some stock parts (swaybar link and ABS harness). I should have the arms installed Friday.
