Short travel after lifting

I recently installed 2" ball joint spacers on my IFS for my front lift. I looked the other day and noticed that I only have about 2" before I hit my bump stops. How different is this from stock? It seems like I lost some travel but I didnt check how much I had before I installed it.

did you put on longer shocks to compensate for the added height?? if not you will be having a lot of lower ball joint problems soon.

here is one option.

some pictures would help explain what you are truly questioning

Yeah I have longer shocks. Basically what I mean is the lower control arm is only about 2 inches below the bump stop. So if i drive over a speed bump I'm pretty much hitting them. Not only does it make rough terrain uncomfortable, but I still have like 4 inches of travel on my shocks. I'm just wondering if it's normal to have so little travel.

Remeber the arms a lever. If theres 2 in under the stop theres more like 4-6 at the wheel.

Short travel up or down? BJ spacers increase down travel over stock. If you cranked your tbars to add more than the 1.5"/2" spacer then this is your reason because there is so much preload on the bars and they don't want to twist. Theres also a limit with how high you can go due to CV angles. What are your fender lip to axle centers measurements?

i can tell you my stock IFS only has about 2" between bump stop and a-arm while sitting in the driveway. like people say, the wheel travel is longer than the bumpstop travel.

you can also get low-profile bump stops. Check this thread https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f129...mpstops-75740/

you get more travel but when you bottom out it's harsher because there isn't a big cushy bumpstop to absorb the impact of bottoming.

Having heard this i think this is much less of a problem than i thought. I'll probably do low profile ones just so i can use the full travel of my shocks. Gotta get that last little bit of articulation lol.
