shock questions
Well its time for some new shocks, the stock ones are finally done serving after 250,000 miles under the rig. So my questions are this, since I will be putting 1.5in. downey coils on I should use a 1in. longer shock right? And would it be any benifitial to go with an eyelet on the top of the shock instead of a stud?
Thanks

Stock length is fine for the Downey coils.
I have been running stock length for several years now with no problems, even when trail running.
I think the only time you need longer ones is with the spacer puck if you add that to the Downey coils, as that makes you about 3" over stock.
Downey wants to sell you longer shocks for the springs to make $$$ off of you

The best way to find out what shock length to go with the new lift is to measure.
As was said, there is no extension bumpstop so it is your shocks.
You could use a 5009 with the coils alone, but I bet they would pop out.
If I had to hazard a guess, I would say in the 23" extended length area.

It will be into the tank like green on grass.
A person could run a ton of different set-ups, there is no distinct one that is appropriate for use with the coils, some have run longer shocks with less lift and dealt with the consequences.
I have a set of Doetsch Tech shocks that I ran with the coils alone that I am now getting rid of. They are about an inch longer than stock IIRC.

Yes my drive shaft does hit the tank only on extreme flex. the one in the pic doesnt hit the gas tank. you could install the limiting strap. that way, you make use as much flex until the Dshaft hit the tank.
I was using RS 9017 which is 1.5" longer than stock with downey coil then I added the 1.5" spacer and 4" procomp end links with the end link bracket turn upside down. You can see some of my setup on my site. ....not everything is current. though.
