Lockright in rear

Anyone use one? Are they easy to install like the lockrights for the front (basic bolt on, no special tools needed)? How well do they hold up?

I have a couple of friends that use them in the rear and they love them. It just takes a little getting used to. As far as holding up one of them has been abused hard for a few years and it is still going strong.

I like mine so far. Only had it for a month or so though... For the price, and ease of install, you can't really beat them IMO...

How about the install of them. Do you need any special tools, and will you need to reshim the gears, etc.... is this a job that can be done with simple hand tools?

Lightbulb its easy

Its not hard to put in just get the feel for the backlash and mark or scratch marks so that you put the bearings back in the right spot. Have fun taking the ring gear off. my trick is to clamp the third in-between your legs sitting down and put a box wrench on one of the bolts and start smacking it with a big hammer. as far as how it works. It is good not grate but it is only 200$ and you put it in. should last. I haven’t broken mine in the front solid axel and I have 36” tsl duel t cases and I have broken a birf. Read about how to install it as the instructions suck.

This is a write up of doing it is a cruiser

http://www.ih8mud.com/tech/woody/ez-lock.html

Since it is bigger, the ring gear didn't need to be removed (yours does)

This was done in the truck, yours has to be removed.

Yours also does not have the "C" clips

i'm going on 2 trips and about 150 miles on mine so far. i love it. i'm going to see how it holds up in the rear and then probably put one in the front also. i've got a 350 in mine so i'm kinda curious as to how it will hold up to the power. i went out with a couple friends the last time who had open diffs. there would be plenty of times where they would have to gun it out of some uneven ruts and i would just poke right out of them. goto love a locker, especially one for $240.
