Inchworm auto tranny adapter?

Has anyone tried or installed the inchworm autotrany adapter to gear drive transfer case? I am building a SAS 86 4runner and I am on the fence with switching to a manual. The inchworm kit intrigues me and it's a DD so I'd like to stick with the auto if I can. What do y'all think?

From: Bryan Tx,
I have been looking at them as well. Subscribed for my own info. I know most of these guys are just going to tell you to just 5-speed swap it, but I am going to keep my auto. DIRTCO used one in his luxury crawler build and added an electric mini shifter.

I installed one in my 86' 4Runner, the auto does rob some power on the street but is awesome on the trail. All the details can be found in my build, along with install pictures, etc. It's a long thread but theres a lot of info on building and wheeling an auto.

Hey Guys,

We are new to the forum and would be happy to answer any of your questions regarding this adapter. This kit relocates the park pawl in order to maintain your "park" option.

Nice product. Pretty easy install. Could use some more detailed install instructions for those perhaps less Toyota knowledgeable.

We will see how it goes once the 3.4 swap is finished.
Pics on link above.

Auto swap

Don't forget there are two different models of A340's in the Toyotas. The older trucks mostly have an A340H, which requires the Inchworm adapter, if you have an A340F style you can get a simpler less expensive adapter often called a V6 adapter. The T100, and Taco have the newer simpler A340F style as well as a few as the older trucks and several guys make adapters for these.
