Going to lift the Runner 2.5" and rims have a few questions though
I have a 00 4wd right now and I plan on getting either the Toytec lift or the Cornbred lift. 2.5" front and 2.5" rear with a diff drop. *** or should I do 3" front? ***
I was considering OME but since I have a 00, the OME would probably only give me a 1.5" lift.
I'm still on stock shocks with 86k miles and I plan on just getting new oe shocks. Should I get other shocks instead? Firmness is not an issue as I have had numerous slammed vehicles with very firm rides.
I have 265/75/16 Revo's on my stocks right now and want to get some 16x8 rims. I want it to stick out close to the edge of the fender flares. Should I be looking to get 16x8 with a 5" BS or 4.5" BS?
Also plan on upgrading to some 33's sometime later on as the Revo's are practically brand new, got them two months ago.
I plan on removing the side steps as well.
Anyways, is there anything else I should consider doing? I don't wheel at all... Just want the extra height and give the ride a more aggressive look.

The above is what you want. Spacers are obsolete. Longer rear coils and you'll be set.

Looks like that setup will run close to $800-$1000... Alot more than I plan on spending... Any other setups that are cheaper? say in the $500 range so I can toss another $500 on rims? The spacers esp. Toytec is only $260 shipped.

well for one, OME will lift the same amount. just bc you have a 2000 doesnt mean you will get less lift...
and what brian posted is the best you can get (for function). tundra coils up front, OME or Downey coils in the back, and OME shocks all around. its expensive, but you get what you pay for.
if you're just going for looks, spacers will probably do fine...

I have some OME 891 springs for sale for the rear...
and a 2" cornfed spacers for the front PM me if interested.

I have a '99 2WD and wanted a lift for the same reason as you (looks over function). I researched a ton and ended up with a Revtek lift (includes all hardware, drop kit for 4WDs and top-out spacers) and Bilsteins. Total cost was about $500.
My rationale: I needed new shocks because OEM were real squishy and old. I also went with this setup due to cost. My choices ranged from coilovers to complete spring and shock replacement to spacers. I've had this setup on my truck for over 2 months now and I'm very happy with the ride. I plan on getting sway bars soon so I don't have so much body roll.
BTW, a friend of mine got the Toytec lift and hated it. Replaced it immdiately with Downey coils. Can't compare with mine but I know I'm happy with my current setup. The only thing I may change is go from stock rears and spacers to Downey coils. This will supposedly improve the ride and have less bounce.

I just bought a set of used 2.5" Cornfed front spacers, 2.5" downey rear coils, and bilstein shocks on the classified section... Can't wait to get them... Also ordered a diff drop from 4Crawler...
Now I just need some wheels and 33's...
