got my FROR sway bar discos in finally... i think these are the first ones, actually. it took a while to get them, but they are quite sweet. i doubt these will ever fail me. at least i hope not. they should be installed tomorrow or the next day. i'll post those pics when i get them, and let you guys know how they hold up. for now:

I don't get why one end isn't welded on and the other have a pin as opposed to both end having pins. Also interested in the cost.

roger sells some, 80 + something for the right angle adapter. Look the same as the fror ones.

im interested to see if those would work with a lift like mine. it seems that since i have BJ spacers and cranked torsion bars that the angle of the lower control arm would make it extremely hard to put back on without undoing the bottom nut.

 

I can make custom length disconnects for use with lifts. Just tell me the center to center length you want (ideally to restore the end of the sway bars to their stock (usually level) orientation, and the end mounting style (straight or right angle):

Not shown is the bolt-on right angle adapter that converts the horizontal mount to a vertical style (only needed on the 4Runners, pickups use straight end links):

the reason there are 2 pins is to remove the large center section, if you just 'broke' the link between the control arm and the sway bar, as you were going up the trail the 'center' piece would be hitting the swaybar, causing possible damage to your newly acquired disco's

yeah, but with the BJ and torsion bar crank, if you were to connect the bottom part of the endlink (the part that connects to the lower control arm) the endlink will be perpindikular (sp?) to the control arm and since the control arm is at an angle (providing lift in the front) you would not be able to connect the top.

i don't know if that made any sense, so say that you take those quick disconnects and put them on. then disconnect them. the top half of the endlink would be vertical, but the bottom half would be at an angle, thus making it pretty much impossible reconnect the two halfs without loosening the lower part.

hopefully one of those will make sense to somebody!

 

If you can get an estimate of the lower end angle, an angled lower end could be designed.

yup, sure is.

i tried to put these on tonight, but i need longer bolts. it's just too hard to get them disconnected because those shorter bolts make the angle kinda crappy... they'll be on tomorrow morning though.

 

well, i got them on today. i had to buy longer bolts (3") to go through the heim and swaybar, to compensate for the distance between the two. i'll get pics ASAP. i'll tell you what though... it sure is nice having a front sway bar again.
