I have a 2000 tacoma prerunner ext cab trd v6 and the e locker will not engage. I really need to find a way to fix this inexpensively because i need to sell this truck ( wifes pregnant with number two and a freshly purchased 03 4 runner is now parked in the garage). When I push the locker button i can hear it trying to actuate it just will not lock into place. The last time i used the locker I had a very tought time getting it to disengage. I will take any and all ideas. Thank you

It sounds like I have the exact same problem i'll yank that thing off and try cleaning it. It better work cuz the dealer wants almost 800 bucks for a new actuator. that's not going to happen

 

I have to drive slow to engage it, and turn from left to right to line things up. Most people have this. Did you try that?
