i doubled up my rear brake line cause I didn't have the money for a SS one...seems to work just fine and plenty long with no leaks.

Doubling up brake line in series...that is just adding a coupling and more line...don't see why that would matter...but a s/s flex line is what you really need or eventually flexing that hard line it is going to bend/break.

Only the rear line can be used for doubling up lines, it is a M-F setup. The fronts are F-F. Since the '85 has a 4" lift and assuming that longer brake lines were added, why not use those?

Didnt think of that!

Guess I could, but after running prices for stuff that i would need now, vs doing it right, Ill probably just do it right, and get the marlin kit.

Not too hard to make a spring hanger:

Several places sell the shackle hanger tubing and with that you would have the suspension part of the SAS kit (w/ your Ford shock mounts). Then with the crossover steering kit you are pretty much set.
