do a ball joint spacer and a rear shackle that will give you about 1.5-2"of lift and rides good and is cheap

A 3" body lift will clear 33's for you.

If you have ADD then the ball joints could wear your cv's quicker.
A simple diff drop would solve that though.

Check out 4crawlers site.
Body lifts, Ball joint spacer, and diff drops.
Each for a pretty nice price

31" no lift

Those tires are going to slow you down if you don't change your gear ratio in your axles. New differentials can be found at junk yards with stock 4.56 or 4.88's. With 4.10's, even 31's are going to slow you down from take-offs and make your speedo read funny, 3 miles per hour @ 35 miles per hour and it will be off by 7 or 8 miles per hour at highway speed. Picking up kids everytime that you have to get them in gets old after a few years. I have sliders to save my back from that lifting everyday. Raise your rig as he gets big enough to climb in by himself.
Just my $0.02 But, if you have a sawzall and some patience and no appetite for speed, check out this link http://www.brian894x4.com/33INCHTIRES.html

But really, 12.5" wide tires don't fit on these trucks well, nor does the rolling resistance help your gas mileage. A 12.5" wide tire requires at least an 8" wide wheel to be mounted, so know your backspacing. 31" x 10.5" tires are easier to come by, cheaper, and more popular for our model of pickup, the 3rd generation Toyota Pickup, AKA Hilux

I agree with you, but I do disagree on fact that 33x10.50's are easier to come buy, you are right that they are cheaper than 33x12.50's but in my experience that BFG is the only company that makes 33x10.50's where as just about every tire comany out there makes 33x12.50's. I would think that more selection would make 33x12.50's easier to purchase. Just my thoughts.

Manual hubs would work as well.

uhhhh....i wouldnt go higher then 2 inches on the body. not a a big fan of body lifts at all. but thats my opinion.

i fit 33x10.5s on my 95 pickup with just 1.5 inches of torsion bar and shackle lift. and it cost me ...80 for the shackles, and 200 for four shocks. [ i need to get better torsion bars but for now the stock ones are cranked about an inch and a half. ]

i reccomend either keeping the stock rims or going with an 8 inch wide rim. dont go any wider then 8 with your 12.5 inch wide tires, no matter what those florida boys tell you lol.

and for gears? i'd go with 4.88s

Ok the lift I want comes in either!! I've got a friend at the local toyota dealership and she's hooking me up with some take offs for $100, and they are stock!! I don't want anything esle to have to shine..lol! I thought about cranking mine, but someone told me it will up your camber, and put more stress on the cv boots..idk??

What about gears??

yeah the camber goes off as mine is, but it can usually be adjusted out. i've seen that year range with mild torsion lifts and level camber, mine isnt, but i'm working on that. as seen in my thread "ifs camber issues"
the previous owner had already had it cranked about an inch, so i didnt touch it. i added the 1.5 inch shackles to the rear and it sat level. in the future i will be installing aftermarket torsion bars that arent so stiff.
i've seen people crank them up to 2 inches and that is just plain ridiculous.lol.
if you get a body lift you probably wont have to replace your shocks, unless theyre bad. saving some money there. i presume since you are in florida you wont be doing much more then mudding. so a body lift should be fine.if you want torsion lift dont go higher then an inch. its something to think about if you want an xtra inch down the road.

with stock width rims you should be able to fit those 33x12.5s with a 2 inch body lift .
they will rub with the 1.5 inch torsion/shackle lift.[my 33x10.5s do when i have the suspension flexed]

personally i neither recommend body lift or torsion lift, but not everyone can afford a solid axle swap lol. so as long as everything is in moderation. the average wheeler can get by.

as for gears, 4.88s should keep you where u want to be

hell yes for no shininess, i'm in the process painting my truck olive drab,

dont forget to post pics of your truck when its finished!
