I'm interested to see what you are doing for the center console. Locking compartments? Cup holders? What are the switches on the back of the console for?

I just discovered this build in the last few days and have read it from start to finish, and, suffice it to say, I'm amazed. Not only the level of craftsmanship and customization that has gone into this, but the fact that you've stuck with this projoct for almost two years! That takes some serious devotion, and you've certainly inspired me, as you have others. From now on, I'll be following this build on a day to day basis. The only concern I have is that I'd be kinda dissappointed if you ended up selling it-rigs like this are worth something more than money, you just can't put a price on them. That's just my 2 pence, though, it's your truck !

BTW, if ever a truck deserved a TRD Off-Road quarter-panel sticker, it's this one. Will it get one ?

not positive , but I'm thinking of moving the guages again , that I just moved to the dash , and put them in the console , then I will have a woodgrain surround (to match the dash) with leather boots for the shifters , there is a space of about 6" which i'm not sure about , but thinkin an Ipod port , and 12V acc ports maybe .. then 2 cup holders and over the heater an armrest w/pad (switches are for the /89 4Runner rear heater I added )

Thanks .. I appreciate your kind words , and wow , has it been 2 years already !!
I seriously doubt I will ever sell it .. but like most things , for the "right" price , I would sell (to finance my shop expansion )

got some work done on the console today ..

started with removing my template ..
I picked up some 3/8" fiberboard , to make my "plug"

started with the sides of the console , clamped them and sanded untill they were exactly the same .

and started to cut and install the panels , using the patern from my "template"

and started to round the edges

and the first coat of filler ..

thats it for today

this is just a "plug" , so its only held together with 1 " brads ... It will eventually be a "mold" , so really , it's the 2nd template . This one will actually be junked/sacrificed for a mold
