and more flames are gonna come for this, but, i dont care...

since the drivers fender was stil a little kinked and the PO did a crappy respray on it, i decided to cover the whole thing in stickers... its about 60% covered right now, and might take a while to get 100% coverage...

anyways, these are just the cheap throwaway stickers that are given out at car shows and whatnot... any actual products i use or have purchased, they are either going on the inside toolbox lid, or on the tailgate...

went 4 wheeling today out to prairie city...

had a fun time... and found some of the limits of a stock tacoma...
upside is that it can definately handle side hills and off camber situations a LOT better...
downside is that i dont have as flexy a rear end as the 4runner... the taco couldnt even tuck a tire on the rear end... oi...

anyways, heres some pics...

It's most likely the shocks and or the overload. The stock Tacoma springs are VERY flexy.

This is my stock springs, overload pulled with TRD bilsteins

The body lift just makes it look like it can't tuck a tire...

Looks like fun Space!

i think the shocks ARE shot...
when you got yours, could you put 200 lbs in the back and have it look like a race ready prerunner? i can... with my girlfriend and her friend it almost sags as much as a damn 4runner...

i didnt even think of that! well, im still not happy with the way the rear flexes... ive already decided to save for an elocker rear axle and when i am ready to swap that in, im gonna go with 63" chevies and do a u-bolt flip at the same time...

but before then, i DEFINATELY need armor... at least skids... because i smacked something REAL hard on the front end... and im also planning on doing a chop this summer... got any tips, Frodo?

anyways, thanks for the comments guys... its nice to actually get her out there and put her though some paces so i can get a baseline on how she mobs stock... and its nice to get some comments back...

it only has 3 springs? that seems weird but the overload springs are the flat springs on the very bottom of the spring pack

yes, he DOES have a front butt... its my buddy's interpretation of ME!!!

and about the spots to wheel, come down here and lets go wheeling together!! i wanna see how your combo holds up!

or heck, we could even meet in oregon and go wheeling somewhere... like tillamook...

btw, when you come down, you MUST bring DC with you...

I don't mean to be rude, but you and other's don't seem to realize that Shocks are not what support weight. They are just there to "soften" the ride and minimize "absorb" the extra bounce that happens with just springs. Everyone always says, "I need to replace my shocks to make my truck taller. . ." lol It doesn't work that way. That's what springs, shackles, and spacers are for.

However, shocks can bottom out and limit the up travel of the suspension. Or they can fully extend and limit the drop of the suspension as well. . .

Try removing the "flat" overload spring on the bottom of the pack. That'll achieve what SCUBA has.

The flat spring is an called an overload spring. I'd bet your shocks are shot also. When I pulled my stock rear shocks out, I could compress them with no effort with my hands, and they took seriously about 30 seconds to rebound back

Put some bilsteins and a deaver pack on that thing

Didn't see grants post lol good post!!!

95.5 Tacomas only had 3 leaf setups. Scubas was a 4 leaf setup.

If you take the overload leaf off, you will only have 2 leaf springs. Think it sags now? 2 leafs won't support much.

You can upgrade to the later 4 leaf setup, but make sure you measure eye-to-eye distances as they changed over the years.

I dont mean to be rude, but i DO know that shocks dont support weight... im not an idiot, grant... but i KNOW FOR A FACT that the rear shocks are shot... one is leaking... and yes, i know that shocks can limit uptravel...

im not going to do something as stupid as remove the overload leaf without beefing it up woth another 1 or 2 leaves first... thats just retarded... im complaining about the rear sagging... i dont want it to sag MORE...

Also, grant, if you look at the pics, ive noticed, that in stock trim, i have the same , if not MORE, flex that Frodo had... i can almost tuck the whole rear tire on a bald 31" with a 2" body lift... if i wanted to achieve what scuba has, id save up every paycheck for 2 months and buy new leaves and front suspension... but i cant...

@DC, thanks for the heads up... with all the information out there, no matter how hard i search for things, ive never been able to find a COMPLETE repository of information... idk why, but even TTORA is crazy incomplete with information...
