It's been battle tested. Gets my thumbs up. Though, I was really hoping for extra clearance. But, I guess without clocking the Tcase and going with a custom X member then that won't happen. Oh well.

I also broke something in the front end last night while out in The Hammers.
Will update when I figure out what it is.

Dude, this is a seriously sick rig, I just read through the whole thread and followed your progress...I am amazed and extremely jealous. I can't wait to see where you go from here, especially since your SASsing it. I have never been too hardcore into trail rigging like this, but this truck is giving my a whole new perspective and a whole new love for it. I may even do something similiar to mine...keep up the amazing work man!

Thanks a lot dude! It's always flattering knowing that guys look up to my truck and that it provides inspiration for their own truck.
And to tell you the truth, I never thought the truck would end up this built. But, its a snowball effect and my thirst for more challenging trails is almost insatiable.

Take care!

Your truck has definitely inspired me...after the day I had today I am pretty sure I am going to build my truck up for crawling. And what a better inspiration than your awesome rig...so I will be searching around for a lot of your write-ups and doing a lot of it.

Carnage!!!

Was out wheeling Saturday night at the hammers. I ended up breaking something in the front end. My preliminary diagnosis was a broken jackshaft. The CV's looked great, but I had no power to the passenger side cv/ wheel.

I got out of the trail in 3WD and today I tore down the front end again
I broke the jackshaft splines off in the diff.

Where I was when it let go.

The jackshaft is the part that splines into the passenger side of the diff. Its the "diff tube" that extends to the passenger side of the truck so that both CV's are the same length.

Inside the diff

I got it out without disassembling the carrier. Think I'm picking up a new jackshaft in a few mins.
Should hopefully have the truck back up and running tomorrow.
I was thinking this breakage might stop me from getting to AZRocks at the end of this month. But, looks like I got lucky.

Its not just this that has me wanting to cut the IFS off.
I can hardly get it aligned since the rack has so much play and I really don't want to spend money on another once since I'm sasing soon.

Got the new jackshaft in today. From the time I dragged the diff from the garage till the time the CV's were in and everything was torqued and ready it was 1 hour and 45 mins. Shig.

New jackshaft in.

Figured while I was under there I could take yet another picture of my crossmember:

Still need to fill the front diff and bolt up the front IFS skid.

I'll be leaving for AZrocks 1 week from now!
