You send us some heat and I'll send you the rain, but only after the tilling is done.

You can have some of my heat... Mar. 22 is too soon for 26C and 30+ Humidex... smog warnings etc.

Hab good pics... love those LC rims... stoker looks good... good life lesson... "as a man goes thru life he will be called on to shovel "it" from time to time, best just to grin and get it done then to complain about it"...

save those pics for his wedding day...

A little not hard side trip off the Glade Top trail in SE MO. Ledges, rocks, eroded ditches, creek crossings. Nothing crazy, but more fun than the pics make it appear. Of course the best stuff we were enjoying too much to remember the camera. Camping was quiet but for peepers, coyote, owls and turkeys just over the hill in the morning.

T'was fun.
I haven't put the right front mudflap on since taking it off to work on the antenna and I got a good visual on mudflap vs no mudflap:

Spring trips are always good! Well, unless it's pouring rain.

Hi guys!
It was a way fun trip.
rworegon- I'm not sure when I'm gonna see that bolt on thing either but soon as I do you know you will too!
Chef- looked back at the pics you speak of and you're right, time to get out and do more of it!

Got the garden fence posts up, still gotta get the fence on then it's time to figure out when to put stuff in the ground. There's talk of a cold snap but it wouldn't be April without some sort of nail biting about possible frost.

Yeah, flaky weather here too. I'm going to wait a week or two for planting. It's too wet to till now after rain this weekend, but should be dry enough by late week.

The suspense.........builds.

I ran across your CO/UT vacation thread....I need to get down that way sometime. The Stoker was an itty bitty in that thread....not anymore.

We've been out there nearly every year. If he's itty bitty enough the truck would be stock maybe minus the running boards. This year there's plans to hit the Maze district with Colorado stuff to and from. So much to do it's never entirely the same vacation twice.
Highly recommended!

Thanks for the info! I have a couple of aunts and a cousin or two in the St. George, UT area so another reason to go. I have to add that to my "got to go to" list. This year, late summer, it's northern California coast to 'Frisco and the Olympics in WA when a friend from Germany comes over for three weeks. Probably, will be a car trip though.

Seems he was about 4-ish? and on the tandem with you geared up and ready to roll. Maybe not long after he started riding?

I vote no flaps. It is going to get dirty anyway; and washing the car is yet another valuable life lesson

Bumpers! Bumpers! (No, I do not have Tourette's syndrome) That is my guess for your impending upgrade.

Great pics.

rworegon- Ok, 4. Stock truck - boards. Parts of Tomichi Creek in mid-Colorado and Mineral Creek outside Ouray was about the hardest trails we hit that year and it did great. Stoker boy had about 1000 miles on the bike, started riding it that April. The hardest trails on the tandem were Tipperary in Winter Park and Monarch Crest outside Salida. The climb on Gashouse Gulch in Buck Creek was hard too. Actually, on the tandem EVERY loose climb is hard!

Urban Assault- Hahaha, valuable life lesson. Short stuff would be standing on the hood, the roof, using the bike rack like a jungle gym. This is MY baby! He's saving up for his own and can wash it until the paint falls off if he wants.
Flaps are staying. I was kicking rocks all over the sides of the truck and everywhere else. Not good for the daily driver, cyclists, motorcyclists, windshields, etc etc etc.
Hmmmm, bumpers would be nice.....

I vote for the flaps... Protect the body of the truck and your fellow commuter's windshields!

Hab, what brand skid plate are you running? I looked in your index did not see it mentioned other than your nifty way for removing it.

Trail Carnage front and belly skids. Got 'em from Amorphous when his truck lost the insurance battle. Very happy with them.

Thanks much. I'll add them to the list to check out.

Update: Trail Carnage does not seem to be around anymore selling skids that I can find.

Completely agree on the flaps aviator....ah, the compromises of the daily driver.

rworegon, I've got Trail Carnage front and belly skids. Bought 'em off Amorphous when his 4Runner lost the insurance battle. Really nice, very heavy and well made. Having a hole for oil changes is a plus too.

EDIT: Okaaayyy, dunno how I did that. I don't believe Trail Carnage is around any more, but if you do find them let me know, I'd like a set for the 99 at some point.

Google is not popping up any thing up for Trail Carnage selling skids now. Budbuilt, Skid Row, and ???? the search is on.

I have a Fumoto oil drain valve and small hands so hoping I can reach in there somehow.
