Hello everyone,

I figured I'd share my latest mod with you guys. I have taken the motor apart twice in the last month. Once for valve cover gaskets, another for cam plugs, half-moons etc. The first time I didn't know the other components needed extra attn, well...I know now!!! While I was doing all that, I cleaned all the oil off the back of the previously oil-leaking motor....So, while I had the skid plates off, so I figured I'd do something else for the better.

I sanded it real good then painted with gloss black rust-stop paint. The other steps will be outlined in the following pics. I was hesitant to post this because maybe I wanted to be the only one around town with custom painted skids, haha, But, my days of being selfish are over. This forum has helped me a million times over, so I'm giving back. Maybe you'll get a kick out of this, enjoy!!!

Taping it off, ignore the blue glare from the lights...Cut around the edge with the use of a gun cleaner cap & an Exacto knife...Cleaned up the rough edges, finished up masking off the rest of skidsPainted, sorta the same body color! As close as I could find @ Ace HardwareLet it dry for a few hrs, peeled tape off, then clear coated w/ 3 coats....Let it cure for 7 days, don't mind the imperfections on the front clip...I'm getting around to it!!!Another view... Years of driving in the sand-filled streets of Charleston have tainted the front clip. Ugghhh, fixing that along w/ ball joints, 906 springs, Bilstein shocks are next on the list!!!
