Why my '03 4Runner driver's seat does not feel secure.
Curiosity got the best of me, I just had to figure out why my driver's seat clicked, bobbed, weaved, bounced, jiggled, etc... especially after I brought the truck in for service and specifically requested that they fix the problems I was having with the driver's seat.

Lets see the dealer :pig: try and adjust and lubricate his way out of this...

Well, I'm kinda insecure about my weight... I was TRYING to avoid the subject. If everyone must know, I'm 240 lbs.
I have to remide everyone that I drive a '92 Integra, which I think was designed for a much smaller person, and I have not had any issues like this with the drivers seat, even after 190k miles.
Any scientists, metallurgists or welders out there? What I think is the likely cause is that when the seat frame was fabricated, the welder used too hot a flame and cooled the metal too fast causing it to become brittle.

I only asked about your weight cause of the seat frame cracking, what else would be the leading cause of that, Im 240 and my brother is 280, and my friend who I let drive my truck is 330, so this has me concerned.
I bought the truck thinking the SUV could hold a heavier individual I spend time at the gym
My 330 friend has dropped to 290 but he has broke the seat in his Acura twice and they actually welded it under warranty but told him to eat a salad he has traded it in for an Expedition, Ford makes a seat for the heavier American.
What would they say if 1 got into an accident and got hurt cause of the seat.
I'd like to know what Toyota says

I am 6'4 and a decent size guy and when I rented a 4Runner last year, did not seem to have too many problems. Now, on my 2005 Tacoma the seat clicks (the lumbar adjustment) at times and it is annoying especially that the vehicle is only 3 weeks old. But I do know other people are having the same problem that are only say, 170 lbs or so on TundraSolutions.
See how mine holds up after a couple months.

240 isn't too bad. I'm 225 and my 2000 4runner has 80000 miles on it and has had no problems with the seat.
I have a feeling that the stealership is going to try to come up with an excuse not to replace the seat. lol
I dont think service depts usually have an on site welder. lol
They're probably going to just replace the seat if they dont accuse you of being too fat.
