heath had photchopped them onto my truck for me. the thing is going to be bad ass!

 

I dont know why anyone doesn't do this, but, just turn your wheels over to a side and inspect how much clearance you have between the caliper and the inside of the wheel.

Mine came with ABS and 16", with my 16" black steelies I have about .75" of clearance around the calipers. I wouldn't be able to fit any 15" rims most likely.

It only takes 5 seconds and no one ever seems to think of this?!

 

Are you going with the 16x8 or the 16x 10?

 

16x8's with 3.75" bs.

 

I concur, was wondering if you are going with a full size roof mounted spare or similar set up? maybe of the rear bumper maybe?

 

i am getting a retreaded spare in the 285/75/16. drew (shotking) found a link for some, and they are only about $95 delivered. perfect for a spare.

and for the location, i have no idea yet. hopefully there is room underneat for it. if not, then i am thinking about asking eric to custom make some sort of mount using the existing rack.

 

you can just deflate it and put it underneath.

do not use the existing rack for a tire, it wont hold it.. those crossbars are REALLY weak plastic.

 

the cross bars, yes. but the rails should be strong enough to hold, no? can't it hold up to 175lbs?

 

even deflated, undeneath the truck,,,,makes it difficult for access perhaps in an off road situation, also clearance problems when off roading could occur

I would go custom rack, on the roof or something

I have my full size spare in the back of my truck inside the tailgate, simple but works, maybe do something like that with a hold down or something

 

I would think stepping up to some type of safari rack might be good,,,,if you like that look, does prove useful for traveling with a full size spare or two

as for a spare, I bet that is fine a retread, however pepboys have semi aggressive off road tires in that same size for 100 bucks,,,I priced them out as that is what I am going to run once I do my body lift and spring time modifcation spree

 

they bent really easily when i was playing with them for my surco rack.

i wouldnt trust my tire or the life of the person behind me to the strength of plastic stock crossbars.
