If I space out the front 1.25", shouldn't I space out the rear as well, lest the truck look goofy with a wider track up front than in the rear?

Most vehicles have a much wider front track than rear, I wouldnt worry about it.. Funney enough limited 4runners have a wider rear track than front, but .2"...SR5's are .5" narrower... Either way I wouldnt worry about it...

OH YEAH

I have "before" pics ready to post, I'll take the "after" shots tonight and get everything online at once in a separate thread - or at the end of my "Tire Size Confusion" thread.

They want to either keep their OEM wheels, or in this case run LandCruiser Wheels, with a BS that doesnt work well... And Spacer are WAY cheaper than new wheels.

For me, it was a matter of money, aggravation and a bit of a time crunch.

{quick hijack}

There's another thread where I talk about having ordered 305/70's, people popped in and said "ain't gonna fit on the stock 16x7 rims". I started looking for new wheels, looked at the cost of what I _wanted_ (versus something that "would work") and said screw it - I changed the order to 285/75's. That became a warning about possible center bubbling on the 7" rims, and definite rubbing issues. I decided to see just how bad the rubbing was gonna be before making a call on dealing with it. I saw that this morning, and ordered up 1.25" spacers from Marlin for $85. In the end, I ended up with a $300+ savings over the cost of new rims, shipping, the larger tires, and the headache of more pounding than I care to deal with right now.

Hey Midiwall post those pix up, and let me know what you think, I really don't go wheeling 99.999% highway. Some people here have spacers and others don't w/17's. I should get them tomorrow. I will try them before the spacers(that's if I need them).
Also I plan to do the tundra 199mm setup, how much wider is the tundra caliper then our 3rd gen's. I need to take that into consideration if I need to order spacers.

Pics are up in a new thread:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/285-75-r16-bfg-mts-96-4runner-88564/

The spacers will be here on Thursday, I'll have them in before the weekend. The rubbing is there, but only at full lock, it's not really apparant in normal driving.

Dunno about the Tundra caliper issue past that it could be an issue. Search!

Well, that helps w/ my decision in choosing wheel spacers or wheels w/ diff't backspacing. Seems like people either love wheel spacers or hate them w/ a passion. I'm not going to take the risk. When my Revos go bald I'm going to do a lift and upgrade to 285's w/ used aftermarket wheels. Then one day when I sell my runner I can have the option to put the stock wheels back on and sell the aftermarket ones. Thnx for the update.

fwiw, I did a run on Sunday through mostly forest service roads, but there was a nice rock wash and a decent hillclimb that was VERY rutted.

I can say without a doubt that I rubbed _less_ without the spacers on. This comes from the tire now fitting fully within the fender (versus sticking out past it with the spacers). I _did_ rub when I got really stuffed, but nothing like I did two weeks ago when I first put the spacers on.
