if only looking for half an inch, your only option is the slide on kind and those just straight suck! they can cuase major damage and over time eat through the wheels studs and cuase a wheel off scenario.... why do you want spacers in the first place? if the tires rub, i would suggest smaller tires or different wheels rather than risk it with the spacers

no they do not rub. it's for the look only.I've just instaled new BF 265/75-16,and now it does not look right. so i thought maybe wheel spacers would help. and now after reading several posts about it on this forum,i gues i'm just gonna leave this "bad idea".
any whay....Thanks Jim

Why do you think slide on wheel spacers suck? What major damage can they cause?I've had 1/4" spacers on my truck for over 12,000 miles & have had no problems.I don't think I would double them up(for 1/2") though because of no lug thread left.

No it didn't look differant at all,I just put them on to keep the wheels I had from rubbing on the brake caliper.

I had 1/4" spacers on the front of my 85 (to keep the wheels from rubbing - actually the wheels didn't rub but the weights did) for about 150k and never had any trouble. But 1/2" would probably be too much, it would strain the lugs and leave too little threads to bite safely.

I will be running 1 1/2 or 2" spacers on the rear to match my front width. But the ones I want are not slide ons. They actually use the xisting studs to mount the spacer, then the spacer presents new studs to mount the wheel.

I saw them at protrux www.protrux.net

the ones that are made properly like the ones above that deathrunner speaks of is fine.... not sure if my whole post was read before, but i work as a tire tech, that said i touch more tires per day than most people will ever touch in their lives... i have seen on probably about 10 differnt vehicles that the slide on spacers have eaten through the studs, and cuased a wheel to fall of the car on the road... thats jsut scary and in my opinion i wouldnt take that chance....

Someone doesn't need to be a tire tech, or claim to be one to make a logical conclusion about something. Spacers can not "eat" through a stud. Saying something does not make it true (unless of course you can convince us somehow with an explanation that passes the common sense test).

Alexander, here is a link to some nice wheel spacers:

1.5" though...3" of total width...sheesh.

I'm not questioning your experience, but how could a aluminum spacer that is pressed tight between a rotor & wheel eat through wheel studs that are much stronger steel?
