What is the difference between the regular Downey coils and the HD coils?
#1
I just ordered my Downey HD coils. I want to make sure that I get the right coils. I remember another member here being sent the wrong coils. Could you guys tell me what the difference is between the regular Downey coils and the HD coils?
That way when I get my coils I can check to make sure I get the right ones before I install them.
Thanks

I've never seen a set of the regular downey coils. Your best bet would be to call downey and verify the part #'s of what you got with what they show for their HD coils.

The HDs will not sag when you load up the rear with cargo.

The heavy duty coils are made with .660" wire. The standard coils are .630". The heavy duty coils should be a bit stiffer, and less prone to fatigue. So, no more butt sag...
I just ordered mine today too

Quick question: The Downey coils state 1 1/2" of lift. I'm guessing that would be 1 1/2" more than stock non-saggy coils. I measure about 12" top of wheel to bottom of wheel well with a bit of a sag. Anybody know what stock clearance should be?

I got 2" so I guess I was sagging 1/2" below stock? Originally Downey goofed and sent me the regular springs which I promptly returned for the HD. The ride with the HD is great - way better than stock.
