Going to put a lockrite in the front but not the rear. Lockrites are definitely streetable but accelerating around corners will put extra wear on my tires I spent way too much money on and I drive it almost everyday.

I wasnt even thinkn bout nosie when i said that LOL. Dont exactly know how deep you like to take your runner but a rear snorkel sounds like a good idea. But if you didnt want to run a pipe up the side of your rig and you dont go extremely deep crossings. You could run it up through the floor behide the inside panel and then you could run it out side or maybe if theres enough room up the inside of window pillar out the roof that way its hidden for the most part. ( If some of the ideas are impossible or still not what you are looking for just disregaurd i was just throwing out what came to mind)

Yeah, still kicking around ideas to get the intake up higher. We are supposed to get some snow up on the hills this weekend and I want to go play in it, I will have to be carefull to not suck up slush and crap.

I think it would be pretty sweet if there was enough room to run it behind the panels that way you couldnt see anything but the cap on the roof

Thought about that, there is room, but not sure I want to cut a hole in the roof.

It would look sick with with one of the plastic caps off a snorkel i dont think it would be an eye sore or anything. if you ran your piping up and just cut the hole in the roof big enough for the snorkel cap to sit down in it the way it aint sticking up it sits flush with the roof and a good neat caulking job with some black caulking to seal it up

My point, would work great but a hole in the roof with caulking around it would kill resale value I think.

Man why in the world would you want to resell a runner as sweet as yours plus all you would have to say if that its turbo'd and snorkeld ready for river crossings lol. And as long as you done it and made it look good i dont think it would hurt it pluse someone buying a runner that looks like yours would understand the point of it

Got the exhaust after the turbo done today, just need a plasma cutter to cut an oval in the bumper. Wont get smashed on rocks up there anymore, need to build a real bumper still.

Most of the loud turbo whistle went away and it's not so loud and raspy anymore.

Did someone mention resale value?

There is not enough room behind the panels to run ducting big enough for the air intake. But it's a cool idea.

The truck I am working on right now has the intake ran under the dash. It is a 3.4 with a blower. And it is VERY loud under boost. So, I would not run your intake into the "cab" of your runner. I would image it would be even louder with the turbo..

After thinking about all the options I think a snorkel out the side of the bumper is going to be the only way to get the intake up higher, might be an eye sore, function>form I guess.

Have come to the conclusion that there just isn't enough room underneath for a safe place for the intake because the truck sees lots of water/mud. If it was a taco I would drill a hole in the bed, but I'm not putting the intake inside the 4runner and not drilling holes in the body.

So looking for ideas, suggestions, thoughts, placement, materials?

Maybe something like one of these, idk.
