The roof mounted options would seem to be the best if for no other reason then kids would not be able to put stuff in them for fun.

Smoked Lexan rear side window, dryer vent, and tubing through the floor of the cargo area.

Case closed.

The rear mounted roof option just looks the best in my opinion

The plan. Using oval tubing it will go out the driver side up the back to the roof. Then I will have the bodyshop mix up some desert dune metallic so I can paint it to match the truck.

Very clean!

Just one question - the body/frame/exhaust all move independant of each other. How will your solution work without something breaking, etc.?

The entire turbo setup and tailpipe is still on rubber hangers, should be just fine.

Nope, no good ones yet. Here is that 4hi launch though, not bad for going uphill with 33" tires. I need to have someone go with me and find somewhere I can drive like an asshole.

So I want to get rid of the kickdown/passing gear crap so I can drive it with the throttle open more at a lower rpm to put more load on it, but apparently I can't just take the cable off because it controls line pressure also...hmm

You do NOT want to remove the kickdown cable with your power, that will spell instant death for the tranny.

With our ECU's just not an easy way to control the shifts/shift points sadly. I wish there was.

Balls. I was afraid that was going to be the case.

Guess I just deal with it or trade my 4runner for my wifes 97 5spd and build that truck.

The kickdown cable doesn't really play much of a role in when the transmission shifts BTW, it just controls the line pressure for the most part. The ECU controls the shift points and we can't mess with those.

Yeah, I wish there was some way to trick it so you could drive it like a auto with a manual valve body, even start out in 2nd if you wanted to. Not a big deal though I was just thinking out loud.

That can be done actually, just got to shift it all the time. I have thought about it myself.

Search google, they make boxes that allow you to shift it like a manual.
