I would highly recommend a pre-filter for this application. I used to use them on my dirt bikes to keep sand out of the filter element on the dunes.

Was thinking about fabbing up some kind of a snorkel for the rear, but haven't put much thought into it yet.

That was actually the first thing that crossed my mind when I started reading this thread...and you'd probably be the first.

It's really the only logical option when you think about it. Routing it in the cab you'd have to deal with the noise, and routing it all the way back up front seems like a waste.

My second thought was running it into the cab inside something similar to a sub box and maybe line it with poly foam to help silence it...like this:

If you did it right there would be minimal airflow restriction. Just a thought.

LOL, need to tie that stuff down!

Too bad you didn't get that on video! So you were able to build a full 7psi on the converter?

Yes, it will make a full 7psi against the converter doing a brake stand, takes a good 3 seconds though. When it hit 7psi I couldn't hold the brakes hard enough to keep it stopped anymore, so I let go and was like

Yeah, I can only stay WOT against the converter for a few seconds before it overpowers the brakes as well.

It makes for fun when it does launch for sure!

My clutch will hold on a 3500-4000 rpm clutch dump.

Our turbo manual cars even with a two step will only make maybe 2psi at launch. So having an auto and then adding 4wd makes it quite interesting.

Yeah, normal 2-step that is about right, anti-lag can make more boost but when you do drop the clutch you usually just light up the tires anyways.

The auto makes for alot of fun off the line, add it to a 4wd car and you have some real fun.

I just pulled the trigger on a valve body upgrade, torque converter upgrade and a new transmission (well new to me). I look forward to see how these work out on the street.

I saw that, I will keep an eye on your progress, maybe something I will consider in the future if you have good luck with it.

IPT is doing the work. I was going to use Level10 but then I found out about IPT. They are a board vendor too which is nice, i like supporting them whenever possible.

They are also a lot cheaper right now since they have everything on sale. Total for the VB and converter should be $1000 + shipping with the deals they have right now.

I will be sure to post a review. Gonna take some before/after videos as well to get an idea of the difference for yourself.

Next thing i want to do is a true trac or locker, stop the 1 tire fires.

I found a complete axle, drum to drum, e-locker for $400, so that may be something I also will be doing shortly, I have needed one plenty of times off road.

I would have figured you already had that taken care of. My biggest problem with getting one is first off getting the right one and then getting it installed.

If i could find a 3rd member with the right gears I would do that for sure.

a friend of mine has a lockrite, his son has a detroit locker, and the lockrite outperforms the detroit according to him. plus the lockright is alot cheaper. guess it's an easy choice for me when i get to that stage.
