Transfer case

Hey Guys_____ I found a transfer case out of a 86 pickup (4clyn.turbo,made only 2 years) asking $200 offered $150. What do you think (price wise), and is it the same as 85runner (you know top loader and strengthwise) ,wanting it for duel setup. Anyway ______ THANKS BAYRUNNER

From an '86 Turbo, it will be a front-shift, 23-spline RF1A turbo case. It is an ideal rear case of a dual setup due to the 23-spline input. It will not bolt up to the W56 tranny in your 4Runner. Buy it and get a top-shift conversion and 23-spline dual case adapter from Marlin. Then use your stock case as the front case. FWIW, $200 is a good asking price for such a rare transfer case, it would cost more than that to get a top-shift case and then convert it to 23-pline input.
