Traction Bar
I am buying a traction bar setup from a local 4x4 fabricator, it welds onto the axle on either side of the pumpkin closer to the wheels than the pumpkin. Then a crossmember is welded onto the frame over the gas tank (frame rail to frame rail). Then some kind of shackle setup is attached onto the crossmember for each t-bar and the t-bar will bolt into those shackles. Sorry guys, I tried to explain it as best I could. Do yall think that 400 bucks including tax, parts, paint, and labor is a good deal?

Sounds about right. What do you need a traction bar for? What spring/shackle/shock setup are you running?

Or for about $400 you could get a set of lift springs for the rear like AllPro or Alcan that have built-in anti-wrap leaves, get rid of the blocks and have a decent system. Or try a bolt-on traction bar:

bringing this thread back to ask a question:
i remember seeing a traction bar awhile back but i cant find it any more.
there was a link to a jeep site, where theyse two ME's made one that only had one mounting point over the top of the diff.
anyone have that link or know what im talking about?

so i was thinking about a different design that i think might work
basically an slip fit extending tube setup that connects the top of the axle housing to a bar vertically up from it
only problem i see is small lateral movements such as when one wheel is higher than the other, wouldnt be possible unless something else was added.
point would be that it limits transverse movements like it is supposed to, but it is not working on a radius that minutely moves the axle forward and backward during its vertical travel.
what do you think.
