Toyota Pickup History page

very cool site to look at...

starts in 1964 with the first toyota pickup truck all the way to 2001 Tacomas (older site, because of the lack of 2002+ Tacomas)

talks about HiLux's, compact pickups, etc..

found it -- http://www.toyotaoffroad.com/Article...tory_truck.htm

of course, found some errors as well

1. the sr5 was first available in '77, not '79
2. 5 speeds were first offered on 4x4s in '81, not '82

4WD Trucks now have an available 4 speed electronically controlled transmission.
A so called Toyota History page, and not one mention of the introduction of the 22RE EFI motor in '85; or that it was the last year they offered solid front axles..

...and they call the 20R a version of the 18R! i figure if that was true, we'd be able to use that nifty twin cam 18RG head on our 20R/22R motors unfortunately that sucker won't work. the 20R and 22R do share the same block, though(22R is just bored out more)
