Torsion bar problems...

Ok, I just completed my lift and am running into some problems adjusting the height. Ground to fender on the driver side is 40" and 39" on the passenger side. Problem is the passenger side won't get any higher, it's as high as it'll go. Besides lowering the other side are there any solutions??? I like the looks of the driver side better, it matches the rear almost exactly. Thanks for the help guys.

Go top of the rim to fender, Make it easier to tell where you are at with your height. Might be maxed out, might be hung on adjuster nut. They do get stuck, take it from someone who had to break both bolts to get them apart. Well both bolts and a 22m wrench that had a lifetime warrenty. That hurts, fyi

The nut often seizes on the adjusting bolt. You can get both at a Toyota dealer.

Ok, thanks.

But the bolt that you twist to adjust height looks like it's at it's max. It's just going into the rubber piece. There's not a lot of thread left either. It seems that both bolts are different lengths. Should I just get 2 new bolts and nuts? (haha, just sounds kinda funny)

What rubber piece? Mine doesn't have any rubber piece. What happens when you turn the adjustment bolt? You are jacking the front end off the ground before adjusting right? See if this helps any http://www.off-road.com/toyota/tech/torsion/index.htm

Could have something to do with the shocks.

Could also have something to do with the gas tank being on the passenger side. My truck has never sat level. The passenger side is always lower, and even more noticeable when the tank is full.

Hey Kevin, how did your truck end up? are all the measurements equal (front and rear)? Or is your rear higher?

Good point, 16 gals of fuel weights about 130 lbs. Throw some weight on the other side to balance it out, or have your mother-in-law sit on the drivers side.
