tjm bumper?
Do you guys think that a tjm t15 would look out of place on a stock tacoma. Meaning no lift and factory size tires. I am aware the added weight might make the front sag a little. Any thoughts on this would be a big help.
By the way does anybody know how much one weights.
Thanks

I dont think it would look out of place. It would bring out a more aggressive appearance and would give you better protection from accidents and deer.
Oh yeah, and i think the T-15 weighs about 104lbs.

I used to have a stock Taco with a T-15 that lived nearby. Ive also seen a stock 4runner. Both looked fine. I highly recommend it. I believe it is lighter then the ARB. My guess on the weight would be around 100lbs, perhaps a bit less.

I would do it in a heartbeat. I recently got backed into by an uninsured motorist. There was barely any visible damage to my truck besides a broken turn signal lens cover, a very, very mildly tweaked fender and my bumper was pushed back 1/2" or so on one side. The estimate for repair was $941! I taped up the turn signal for now and plan to leave it that way until I figure out what bumper I will be running permanently since it will either have it's own turn signals or require re-wiring my side-markers to also blink. I tore into everything myself and it was fairly easy to tweak everything into place to the point that it's not at all noticeable.
Point is a TJM or ARB or whatever would have prevented any damage at all. I'm sure of that. I have seen plenty of otherwise stock trucks with bumpers, in fact that is mostly when I see ARB's / TJM's.
Does TJM offer the aluminum bumper for 3rd gen. 4Runners?

Thanks for the replies, and you are all right about the added frontend protection. Now if I can just find a business to have it shiped to and save a little on shipping. I should have mentioned that it is an 02 TRD 4x4 tacoma excab.
Again thanks for the replies

If 2000 and 2002 Tacomas have the same bumper mounting, you can get a blem bumper direct from TJM at a discount.

you should add some beefy a/t tires to go with the t15 though. i installed mine before the lift and with the stock 'road' tires it looked out of place, but i've seen plenty of tacos with arbs ortjms and 31" bfg a/t's (or other a/t's) that looked pretty good. have you thought about some ome 881s?

4x4 taco
I was actually looking at your truck today and really like the look, I do plan on a lift sometime in the near furture but I was leaning more toward a coilover than ome springs. How did you lift the rear of your truck?
The a/t tires are comming as soon as these weat out or when I just cant stand them anymore they suck (stock bfg's) I just dont put many miles on this truck so it takes forever to wear out tires.
have a good one

Does anyone know how different the bumbper mounting is between 97 and 98 on tacomas? I was looking at the blems on the TJM website and noticed a great deal on a bumper for a 98 and I've wondering if any work I'd have to do to mount it on my 97 would negate the savings.
Thanks
