4runner expected mileage

I am considering purchasing a used 4runner

I am looking at two options- a 97 with 105,000 miles and a 2000 with about 70000 miles. Both have been well cared for.

My question is with proper maintenance how many miles can I expect to get on the 4 runner. I have heard and read that these things will easily get you 200,000 miles without many problems. Has that been your experience?

Thanks for any help

if properly cared for and with regular oil changes, easily 200K. you can get as high as 300K as well.

As long as the maintenance has been done and is current, 4Runners will last a long time. My dad has a 96 4Runner with 140k miles on it that he bought new, no problems and is still on the original clutch!!

My friend at work has about 292k on his '92 Runner as a whole but the motor was rebuilt at 240k.

Someone here has a 96 or 97 with like 256k. Only problems he had were with the radiator. His dad beat the hell out of it on the highway - but kept up with regular maintanence.

I expect around 250K miles before dropping in a new engine and/or trans.

Mine is pretty much for sale, I just haven't put any effort into it. If you want a good deal due to higher mileage this is it! 136,xxx miles asking 9K with everything included on it. OME lift, 33X12.5 MTs on EA 589s, Limited interior, fog lights, reverse lights, footwell lights, air horn, Manik nerf bars, Bushwacker flares, Yakima bike rack, and keyless entry w/alarm and remote start. I've spent almost 30K total and selling cheap due to the miles.

Just thought I'd throw it out there, but 100K and 70K means it's still a baby and probably drives like brand new.

With 105,000 and cared for, I wouldn't expect to do much more than oil changes and other recommended maintenance on it for another 100,000 miles, easy! I sold a '90 with 205,000 on it and my friend says it's still running great 2 years and a LOT of miles later.

My friend is interested in that. How could i get in touch with you (email or AIM)? Also, i live in alabama too so that might work out pretty good.
