Tjm

I would have done a poll if i knew how, but there plenty of threads of "TJM or ARB" but I wanna know if you guys had a choice, would you choose the T15 or the T17 for a bumper? I recently rear ended someone in my 4runner and now is the time to repair things, and i feel that i getting a bull bar would be much better then replacing the OEM bumper.

in most cases if you do it yourself that is a cheaper auction.

depends on what's more important in my opinion, if price is i'd go with 17, if you can spare some i'd definitely go with the 15

First off, to post a poll, you have to be a "contributing member".

With that said, it really comes down to personal choice. Do you want hoops or no hoops? If price is a concern, get the one w/no hoops. If you still wanted the hoops though, Steve @ Sonoran Steel makes a set of custom hoops for the 17 that you could buy at a later date. However, you must buy the 17 from him though to get the custom hoops.

Personally, I like the look of the TJM 15 over the 17...hence why it is now on the front of my 4Runner.

If you want something not many others have, check out the TJM 13. It has been rumored this bumper cannot be purchased in the states, but that is untrue. Steve can get that one too. There is even a member here who has it. Just a thought to give you more options.

Totally up to you though. You are the one driving it every day, not us.

Personally I like the TJM 15 alot better, it gives you a more aggressive look compared to the TJM 17

only in austraila i think.

their is a little bit more of a diff between the 17 and 15 more then just looks.

if you see Lee's 4runner he has had problems with his 17 bending and bashing here and there on rocks and deforming itself, the 15 is stronger due to the reinforcements of the hoops to the steel plates. so id go 15, or get custom.

the tjm13 is nice but will set you back premium to have shipped overseas from down under.

Thats what i was gonna say. That, and how much do you wanna spend?
It's what you want and can afford.

I prefer the T-17 more...don't care for those "bulky" hoops.

Yes you can. Call Steve of Sonoran Steel. He can get you one no problem.

No sir. When I talked to Steve on the phone a few months back about ordering my T-15, I asked him about getting a T-13 and he said he can get one as easily as a 15 or 17. Said it is just a myth that they can only be purchased from Austraila. I even called the TJM facility at the time and they confirmed that they had plenty of the 13s stock.

So yes, you can buy a T-13 here in the States.

There's another guy on here w/ a silver 3rd gen (either an '00 or '01) who also has a T-13. Looks real nice. If I can find that picture around here, I'll post it up. (Can't seem to remember his name though...)

Wouldn't you know it, I just remembered who it is that has another T-13! It'd be: Sgirt

Here's a link to his site: http://www.toysandbox.com/2000.htm

Oh and I "borrowed" a few pics off his site to showcase his bumper (Sgirt, hope you don't mind ):

Well, for those of you interested in the T-13 (or any TJM for that matter), I thought I would pass along some information I just found out from Schaefer himself:

TJM has not had ANY 4Runner bumpers in stock since March of 2007. They have also discontinued the T-13 for the 3rd Gen 4Runner and Tacoma. They did not sell.

More TJMs should be here in a month or two though...finally.

However, they do have 4 or 5 Aluminum T-13's for 96-98 4Runners in stock which could easily be fitted to any 99-02 4Runner, same way you would fit anything ARB.

So I would say that they don't have any more Steel T-13's (those are discontinued), but they have some Aluminum T-13 for 96-98 left.

For anyone looking for a T-17... TJM Toyota 4Runner Bumper Must Sell

I have no personal knowledge on this bumper or seller. I just happen to see the post on CO4x4.
