@KBall,@rwor: Please check this LINK for the Hires pics. I thought this is from the PS or AC pulley/tensioner. Just cannot pin point it!

UPDATE: New Tensioner assembly is on...

That does not look familiar to me. Are you sure it was bolted up to something or did it just fall out of there?

Did you use the 1/4" ratchet to get the tensioner or did you pull the a/c bracket?

Had you already taken the lower tensioner pulley off before this piece fell out?

It may be the washer between the pulley and the block. I cannot remember if it is stepped like that or not.

@kBall: I did use the 1/4" which a little bit tight but it works

@KBall/RWrOr: I just noticed this piece lying on the cross member!

Hmmm..... and you have the washer that goes between the lower tensioner pulley and the block?

Rwore*: I think I found it-please check the last 3 pics here and tell me what you think.

And while we're at this, could guide me where the three seals from the TB Kit goes. I mean, 2 cam seals and 1 crankshaft seal. Seems explanatory but...

BIG THANKS to you guys!!!

You found the correct location for that part! Good work. The washer between the pulley and cam is flat.

The two matching seals are for the cam. The cam gears would need to be pulled (those bolts are typically nasty tight to remove) and that backing plate removed to get to them. The single seal is for the crank and the crankshaft timing gear needs to the removed first.

Some will say change them, others will say wait until they leak. I changed mine at 185,000 miles when changing headgasket, but none were leaking.

A copy of the TB FSM in a thread with other torque values.

So here I go again after the lights ran out on me yesterday solving one issue - It was that while torquing the crankshaft bolt, I couldn't hold it steady enough to not move/spin a little bit and render my crankshaft timing marks off. PITA!

Once the belt is on and the tensioner pin released, spin the crank two times clockwise and be sure all 3 marks come back to TDC.

UPDATE:
Hello folks,

Today, I went to continue working on my truck. But...I OVER CRANKED the crankshaft and the piece that holds the two holes came off! Nice!

What do you think fellow YT?

Over cranked? Was your torque wrench not set right? Time for a new harmonic balancer. They are not cheap. Start looking at junk yards...

How important is that piece inside the crank pulley? It was rubberized and the rubber gave up!

I was using breaker bar to tighten it first before using the torque wrench, but I over extend it and voila!

I think I understand the logic of putting the piece with rubber...that is to guard against over torquing?

That rubber is what connects the two pieces of the balancer together. So it's broke now. You may not have broke it by accident, I've heard of this happening when people are torquing them down. Sometimes it just happens I guess...?

Hi KBall,

It is not the harmonic balancer per se that broke off but that piece with two holes where you insert the SST.

Yeah...while tightening it, I had the feeling that I have to stop already but pressed on and POP it went
